[Calysta]
The once peaceful night quickly turned into a raging battlefield. With no time to change into gear, I fight in my nightgown as Gabriel's cloak that's draped around my shoulders is flown away by the wind that I am summoning.
"Move back!" I shout as I flick my hands and the wind slices off the heads of the goblins that are trying to go over the wall.
Archers with flaming arrows shoot at goblins that are on their way up.
"Caly!" I turn to see Gwen running towards me.
"Thank the heavens, you're alright." She says as she immediately gets on action, slaying every goblin that climbs over the wall.
"Look out!" Kalah exclaims as she throws a fireball at a goblin fast approaching from the air. Confused, we look down to see the giants throwing goblins over the wall.
I immediately head over and climb up the edge of the wall to get a better view of the attacking monsters. I raise both hands up, facing towards the sky as I summon thunderclouds and lightning.
Instantly, the clear night turns very dark as thunderclouds begin to loom overhead. I take a deep breath before I raise both hands over my head, and quickly bring them down, palms face down and into the monsters.
Lightning strike the ground with the motion of my arms, as a few giants fall to the ground. Kalah follows with fireballs, immediately burning their bodies, making sure they die.
I yelp when a small hand suddenly grabs my foot, pulling me downwards. I was focused on the giants below, I had not noticed that a goblin was making its way up to me.
"Caly!" I hear Gabriel and Gwen scream as I fall down with the goblin. I summon the wind to take me up, and instantly, I feel a strong gust of wind course from my feet and up my hair, stopping me from falling. Once I am flying above the wall, the goblin lets go as an arrow hits its stomach.
I look back to see Gabriel with a bow, having hit the goblin. He looks at me, panting.
I set myself back down on the wall, only to realize that it is painful for me to stand on my leg. I look down to see that the goblin had scratched me from where it was clinging on to me.
"Are you alright?" Gabriel screams from over the noise of the battle and I nod.
"You need to head to the infirmary." Gwen says as she approaches me, taking a look at my injured leg.
"I'm fine, Gwen. You'll be one sorceress down without me." I reply as I immediately get back to fighting.
I ignore my injury, knowing full well that this attack is far from over. There are still dozens of goblins trying to climb over the wall, and a few giants throwing goblins over to get them to us faster.
"Fire!" I look to the main tower to see Ser Remnand directing the archers. Gabriel's team have also come up the wall to defend it from the goblins trying to climb over.
"Frederick!" A soldier shouts as another soldier is pulled down by a goblin. I summon my wind to try and catch the soldier, only to fail. He had already fallen, and the goblins waiting below have already buried their teeth down his flesh as he screams.
I spot another goblin about to grab one of the archers. I quickly will for the wind and swiftly flick my hand and in one motion, the goblin's hand is sliced off. leaving it handing on the archer's foot and the rest of its body falling down the wall.
The archer gives me a quick glance and bow in thanks before shaking off the goblin hand that's holding on to him.
I look back down to see there are still multiple giants throwing goblins over the wall. I summon the lightning once again and strike them down just as I did earlier and Kalah quickly follows in burning them down.
She has been sending fireball upon fireball but the monsters just do not seem to end.
"At this rate I'll burn the whole forest down!" She shouts over the noise.
I think of a way to create as much damage to the monsters as possible in just one go. I come up with a way, but look around to figure out how it can affect our side.
"Everyone will have to hold on." I whisper, as I realize what I'm about to do.
"Gabriel!" I call for Gabriel, who is occupied fighting off goblins. He immediately turns to me.
"Everyone needs to hold tight to whatever they can hold tight to!" I tell him. He looks at me, confused for a moment, but looks at me again and realizes what I mean.
He nods and quickly run to inform others, and Ser Remnand who is still directing the main tower.
I look down at my hands, realizing that I had never done this before, as I have never been in a position where I had to wipe out as many enemies as I can.
I check on everyone to see that they have ducked and crouched down. Some are still fighting off goblins even in this position. Kalah remains standing at the edge of the wall, just as I am. She nods at me.
I look towards the enemy line as I concentrate all my magic on forming tornadoes. I feel myself being lifted up the air as I summon magic, the wind starting to get violent.
I close my eyes, still mid-air, as I feel my hair dance with the wind, focusing all the magic I have in summoning the tornadoes.
I open my eyes, and see five tornadoes forming from the ground below, gaining in speed and in size as I focus all my magic in them. Goblins and giants are swept up, as they screech and struggle.
I look down at the wall to see Kalah struggling to keep on standing even as the winds pick up speed. She summons fire, casting it directly at my tornadoes, causing my whirl of violent winds become a whirl of raging fire.
Goblins screech as they burn. With her free hand, Kalah summons another fire and casts it directly at another tornado, causing the same effect.
In just a few minutes, we've decimated a huge number of those attacking us. I've stopped the tornadoes for our line to continue our attacks as well. As soon as I do, Ser Remnand commands the archers to take their positions and start firing once again.
"We're winning." I say to Gwen as I set myself back down on the wall.
"I've never seen that before." She says as she stares at me, astonished at what I can do. I look down at my hands, not sure if I really was the one who did that as well.
"More coming!" A soldier exclaims. We all look to see what he means, only to see more goblins coming out of the forest.
"Where are they coming from?!" Kalah asks, irritated as she continues to send down fire.
"Dragon!" Randall shouts as he points at the horizon. We all look up, mouths wide open as a huge, red dragon, same as the one we've fought comes flying towards the wall.
"Aim!" Ser Remnand commands at the archers as they all aim towards the dragon, flying full speed towards us. Arrows fly, as some of them hit the dragon, and some of them missing.
"Take cover!" Gabriel shouts as the dragon opens its mouth, ready to breathe out fire at the main tower. Kalah is quick to run towards the tower, redirecting the dragon's fire sideways, successfully saving the soldiers and Ser Remnand from burning.
As the dragon swerves to my side of the wall, I summon the wind with both hands, swiftly flicking them towards the direction of the dragon, aiming to cut off its head.
The dragon successfully swerves, and I hit a portion of the roof of the main tower instead, causing a portion of it to come crumbling down.
The dragon flies right past me, before flying back up. I look down, and see goblin climbing up the side of the wall towards me. Before it can take a hold of my foot, just as the other one did earlier, I use my uninjured foot to kick its head back down, causing it to fall.
I instantly look up once again, to see the dragon making a nose dive towards the wall, its mouth wide open.
"Kalah!" I call for her, knowing what the dragon is about to do.
Kalah is quick to run over, going up on the edge of the wall as she lifts both hands above her head, her palms facing the dragon's open mouth.
Kalah is quick to divert the fire that's coming out the dragon's mouth to keep if from directly damaging the tower and injuring the soldiers.
With the redirected fire coming towards me, I direct it downwards with my winds, burning the goblins that are still attempting to climb over the wall.
"Gabriel!" I look towards Ulysses as he screams Gabriel's name even as he's fighting three goblins at the same time. I look where he is looking, to find Gabriel grappling with seven or more goblins at the same time.
One of them had climbed over his back and is clinging onto his head.
"Duck!" I exclaim at Gabriel as I summon the wind and flick my hand towards the goblin. Gabriel is quick to duck and before he knows it, the goblin's head is cut off by my wind.
I then use my wind to knock off the other goblins surrounding him. He looks at me and nods, as if in thanks.
"Calysta!" Kalah screams my name as the dragon flies back up into the sky.
I summon lightning, hitting the dragon's head directly. It screeches as it comes falling down towards the ground. Its head hits a portion of the wall, causing for parts of it to break before it finally fell straight down to the ground, crushing a few goblins.
I immediately summon the wind, taking my chance while the dragon is still on the ground. With both hands above my head, I bring them down as I motion them towards the struggling dragon, and the wind is quick to cut off the dragon's head before it can try to stand and fly again.
I pant, staring at the lifeless body of the beast. I look towards the horizon, afraid that another dragon might show up. I breathe out a sigh of relief as the horizon remains empty.
I look back down to see the remaining goblins still trying to attack. The archers shoot them with arrows, and those over the walls are taken care of by those that are wielding swords.
The sigils on the dead bodies of the monsters start to glow, just as those we've encountered in the forest do. Kalah and I get ready to trace it back to its source as we wait for them to burn away, only to be surprised by the dragon's sigil.
Instead of burning away, it glowed, and showed a figure of a man, smiling at us.
"It seems you have won again." The figure of the glowing man says.
"Who are you?!" Ser Remnand asks.
The figure only smiles at us, as if Ser Remnand had asked a ridiculous question.
"I am Eldrich Abdon, son of the Great Sorcerer of Ice and Snow. I have come to take revenge for my father, and the Sorcerers you murdered." He says as he looks directly at Kalah and I.
"More like the Sorcerer's our grandmothers defeated in the battlefield." Kalah replies. Eldrich Abdon laughs.
"You will be seeing more of me." He says as his glowing figure dissipates into the air like smoke.
And so, we are left there, with the bodies of monsters by our walls, and the confirmation that the rumor is indeed true.
There is a surviving Sorcerer, and he is after the Kingdom of Raziem. The question now is, what is his magic? And how do we defeat him and protect all of Raziem.
