CHAPTER FIFTEEN Satchel didn’t learn about the fire right away. He was at a site outside the city for most of the morning, but then as he drove home, he switched the radio on and heard about it. “City fire chiefs say that as many as fifteen vessels and residences at the harbor were destroyed in the fire, but as yet the injury count is unknown. There have been no fatalities reported yet, but a number of residents were taken to the emergency room, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
