"Do you think she's coming back?" Theresa asked.
"She only just returned to the city." Luke said. "We're not going to be a priority for someone like her at a time like this."
"We could help." Theresa said.
"We could." She insisted when Luke said nothing.
"Maybe." Luke said.
"She's not much older than we are." Theresa said.
"That's not what I was thinking about."
The others were downstairs for one of Samantha's lessons. No one would notice that two of the students were absent. They never did. The house belonged to Samantha who had offered it as a new base to operate from after they had abandoned the old one.
"As if you think." Theresa said.
"Jerk." Luke said.
"Ok, I'm sorry." Theresa said. "Can you ever forgive me? How can I ever hope to atone?"
