“Knock knock ooooo!” “Ahhhh! Who’s shouting knock knock on my head? You want to knock my head??” I laughed as I said this. “Wura, why are you talking like that? You’re so funny!” Motunrayo replied, grinning. “Ahhhh Motunrayo, what do you mean now?” I smiled as I asked. “Ahhh… this one that came to greet me today, what’s up? You want to give me money nii?” “Wura, nooo. I just came to tell you something… girl to girl now. Ehnnn… shebi Opeyemi is your cousin, abi?” “Yes, now everybody knows she’s my cousin. We’re literally sisters now,” I said, smiling. Motunrayo’s expression turned serious. “So… three days ago, when I was coming back from my friend’s birthday party at Royals Bird Hotel & Suites, I saw Opeyemi with one man. Even I was shocked! I thought maybe she came with someone to the party, but later I noticed she was with some girls, their table at the corner near the outdoor area. She went out, and I followed her to say hi. That’s when I saw your cousin enter a big car with a man. Omo, Opeyemi fine oooo… but Wura, you need to talk to her. She should be careful ooo.” “Wait, wait, wait… Motun, are you sure of what you’re saying? She only told me she was going to her friend’s house,” I said, trying to process what she had just told me. “I no fit dey lie you now, Wura. That’s exactly what I saw,” Motunrayo confirmed. I took a deep breath. “Okay… Motun, thank you so much. I really appreciate you telling me.” As I sat back, my mind started racing. Opeyemi… with a man? At a party she told me nothing about? My heart sank, and a knot formed in my stomach. Something felt off… and I had a feeling I needed to pay closer attention. ............. So, Opeyemi is now hooking up… well, it’s her life, and she’s old enough to make her own decisions. What right do I have to judge her? As I was still thinking about what Motun had told me, I remembered I had an appointment with Doyin this evening. My heart skipped a beat. I quickly showered, put on a nice outfit, and got ready to go. --- “Hello, Doyin, I’m at the junction. Please come pick me; I don’t know your house,” I texted. Eight minutes later, I saw him walking toward me — tall, glowing, and smiling in that way that made my knees weak. I stood there, blushing, as he approached and hugged me tightly. Butterflies erupted all over my body. “Sorry for keeping you waiting, Wura. My house isn’t far — just down the street, opposite,” he said warmly. “No problem,” I murmured. We held hands as we walked, chatting. He greeted everyone we passed with that easy charm of his. When we reached his apartment, I couldn’t help but think, Wow… everything is so neat and in place. Just as I was settling in, he asked, “Do you want to eat something?” “Let me relax first,” I replied, smiling. “So, Doyin… you haven’t told me about your club,” I teased. He looked confused. “Club?” I laughed. “Are you a Chelsea fan, Man U, or Man City?” His face lit up with relief. “Ahhhh, Wura, you want to kill me! I’m a Man U fan for life, you nkan!” “I’m Chelsea,” I said playfully. He groaned. “It’s fine… but you’ll have to come to Man United, because you can’t be my girlfriend and be a Chelsea fan.” Girlfriend?! My heart raced. I wanted to jump around and scream, but I kept my composure. He came closer and switched on his zombie video game. We started playing, and I noticed him stealing glances at me. I tried to act casual, but my pulse was racing. Then, without warning, he leaned in and kissed me. My face burned red. “I love you, Wura. Will you be my girlfriend?” he whispered against my lips. Without hesitating, I said yes. He kissed me again, deeper this time. I kissed him back, letting myself melt into the moment. His hands found mine, and the heat between us grew. Every touch, every glance, every heartbeat felt electric. He leaned in even closer, softly kissing my lips, his heat coursing through me to everywhere I felt. My heart raced as his hands glided over me and he explored, teased, I let out a little moan, surrendering to the throb of desire coursing through my body. His kissed moved from my lips to my neck, kissing me softly, burning kissing that could have easily sent me down on my knees. Every brush of his hands against my skin sent electric shivers through me, and I could feel his hands pulling me closer as I lost myself in the moment wrapping my arms around him. I could feel his warmth, his strength, and an undeniable want. There was purpose in his touches, intimacy with every inch. The world around us disappeared, it was just the two of us; hearts racing, breaths mixing, and the heaviness building that neither one of us wanted to quench. As he kissed me with passionate urgency, I was dizzy with excitement, but nervous too -- is this really happening? I had wanted this. I had wanted him. But it was a bold leap and the intensity quickened my heartbeat faster than I could catch my breath. As I peaked up at him through my lashes, the warmth and intensity softened his gaze momentarily. In that brief moment of eye contact with his eyes looking into mine, I felt seen, desired, and cared for all in the same breath, which was beautiful, and made my body instinctively lean into him. But my mind chimed in with caution, urging me to let me take my time and enjoy every moment.
