Shanna doubled over in pain.

Her skin was burning. The other shifts had been almost painless, they had been so fast. This wasn’t. This was pain, unlike anything she had ever experienced. Logan gently lowered her to the soft grass. Then stood back. Shanna looked up at him. She felt so alone right now.
