Ben’s POV
I watch from behind a tree as she comes bounding into the clearing. Her paws coming to a halt as her eyes look around the darkness carefully. She lifts her nose up high, sniffing the air as she begins to creep forwards in my direction. As soon as she is within range, I leap out on top of her, bringing her to the ground with a thud. She snaps at me playfully and I purposely let her roll over on top of me. She gnaws at my nose and I quickly pin her underneath me once again. She stops struggling and for a second we still completely as we look into each other’s eyes. I take a step away from her, unable to wait any longer to feel her in my arms again.
“Shift, Mack.”
“No.”
“What do you mean no?”
“I need more time with Liberty!”
“More time? You’ve had all damn night! Shift!”
