Everyone in Gildya seemed in a rush, and hardly anyone paid attention to Koshmarnyk making his way through its halls. Even with evening already upon the city, nothing indicated a time of rest for the guild of inventors. Adepts carried blueprints and device pieces, while apprentices heaved heavier crates, likely containing all the parts their tutors needed for the construction of many useful contraptions. With the city’s safety challenged, Koshmarnyk hoped that most were focusing on the replacement devices for the ones lost to the saboteurs and demonlings that had made it inside the walls when parts of the barrier fell.
