*****Simon’s POV**** I closed the door after the detectives left. I had an awfully bad feeling that this whole thing was all my fault. Guilt started to eat at me as I looked at Savannah in the bed all covered in bandages.  She looked small in the hospital bed “It will be okay Daddy they will get who ever did this and Mom and Joey will get justice” Savannah says watching me as I came back to sit down. She had a pained expression for a second before asking "what am I going to do about school? I flinched, she had been working so hard at school I didn't want all her hard work to go away. "I called the admins at the school and they know what happened to us so they are giving you time to heal and mourn you can start back as soon as your well enough to' I smiled at her reassuringly. "Thanks Dad i was so worried I would have to withdraw.    I can’t tell her, it’s too soon I think as I sigh heavily “I know they will sweetie just concentrate on getting better, the doctors are hopeful that this last surgery will get you walking again. We have to have patience and let the men do their job.”   With a heavy sigh I took her hand. “I hate to leave you here alone, but I have a few things to look after, do you think you will be okay if I leave?”  She nods her head and lays back. “Ill be fine dad I’m just a little tired you shouldn’t have to stay around here and watch me sleep. She gives me a weak smile. I lean in and kiss her forehead. “I’ll be back as soon as I can and if you need me you have the phone next to the bed.” I watch as she drifts off to sleep and I quietly close the door. As I walk down the hall, I feel like I am being watched so I quickly make it out of the building until that feeling went away. The feeling was replaced by anger I needed answers and I knew who to call to get them now I just needed money. I made my way out of the city; I took the long was to make sure I was not followed. When I was about ten minutes away, I made a call “Hey, yeah I’m fine but my family was attacked and I need your help, I waited for a reply, “what do you mean can’t,”  I was cut off by yelling in my ear. I pulled over to the shoulder of the road. “come on” I shouted back “we did this together you owe me that much” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Fine ill meet you there” I hung up and pulled back on the road. They knew, I thought to myself with a sinking feeling in my gut. How, this was a fool proof plan no one should have found out and now I have lost everything maybe lose a lot more before this is over. I had to come up with a plan and fast.   I was meeting with Juan Martinez he and I were the ones who took care of a problem for the family 22 years ago. Now, I feared that job was coming back to bite us in the ass. I made my way to the meeting place. An old abandoned house in the Fall River neighborhood, I watched the house for a few minutes to make sure no soul was around. Spring time in Massachusetts is beautiful but with the heavy feeling settling on my shoulders I couldn't enjoy it.  This was going to be the hardest part of getting out but I was sure I could make it and make sure Savannah never found out what really happened.  Making my way up to the house, I kept looking over my shoulder. I stepped over the trash that littered the yard. The front door was opened, but just a c***k. I pushed it the rest of the way open. "Juan," I called out not seeing anyone in the living area. These three story houses were split into individual apartments to accommodate more families. The bottom floor of the house was just a single unit the second and third floors had more room.  I made my way down the tiny hall that lead to the kitchen, there in one of the dingy chairs at the table was Juan but the dead look in his eyes told me I was too late and in a lot more trouble than I had originally thought.
