Chapter 10

Nathan’s P.O.V The training was like a death trial. Every time someone stopped or decided to take a break without permission, that damned girl would hold the person’s hand and make them take a trip through the air, making sure that they landed flatly on the ground. Just looking at that made me and the rest of the guys shiver in fear. It was complete hell. The only person that was keeping up with this whole fiasco was him. Noah. GOD!! I wish I could just wring his blood dry. We had called him to help, but this time he ended going along with the woman. On top of that, right before this she’d said something very confusing, “Unless Cadet Maxwell drops, all of you are to continue. If you don’t, then I will be personally showing the consequences. Now, please get started.” That was it. That was all she said, and Noah had started. He was smirking, and the rest of us who saw that expression thought that he had a plan in mind. So without thinking we followed him. But after 1 whole hour, he was still going while some couldn’t handle by stopping completely, collapsing, and fainting. It was terrible. Third person P.O.V Those who fainted had freezing cold water poured on them and were given tests according to what their family business was. After all, this was a ‘special’ unit. They were trained to  become a jack-of-all-trades in this place, or at least they were meant to. On top of that, since many families had ties with the military, they decided to create this unit, knowing full well the government would support them. No one could tell what was going through Noah’s mind, and some were starting to get sick and tired of waiting for his trickery to start. Noah, on the other hand, was thinking about something completely different. He knew that although she was older than them by at least two or three years, she was gorgeous. He wanted her. He wanted to make love to her. But, in the end, it wasn’t pure love. It was dirty and impure l**t. It was disgusting. Although his expression wasn’t showing it, the gears in his brain were already forming a plan. Felicia, having seen many men by her ex-boyfriend’s side, was grinning at the childish meaning that this 20 year-old adult man was showing through his actions. She found it cute, by her standards. It was adorable how he could think like that. Like he was certain that she would listen to him. “Till when should we continue this, instructor? I think I’m starting to get tired,” Noah yelled, smiled pitifully while pretending to be out of breath and looked towards Felicia’s direction. Yet she just chuckled and signalled for him to keep running. Meanwhile, some of the boys were beginning to finish their paper. So she decided to stop playing the cat and mouse game and focus on the more pressing issues at hand. Noah frowned and subconsciously increased his running speed, leaving behind the poor huffing, puffing guys. But he couldn’t care less about them. ‘Why didn’t she tell me to stop? Do my perfect looks not work on her or something?’ Noah, being the egotistic guy he was thought. He had a habit of always seeing things go his way. But still, girls who wanted to try something different played this sort of game. Noah did like it, but not too much. It was fun in the early parts, but later it just got annoying. So Noah decided to finally do something. He knew she was strong, but how strong could she be? Although she somehow had a way of demanding authority, she looked so gentle and delicate that he just knew he could handle her, no problem. Thinking that, he ran faster, making the beads of sweat visible through his shirt. Suddenly, Felicia heard a loud crash. While sorting the papers, she looked up. There, Noah lay with sweat running down through his shirt and even though he wasn’t exactly out of energy, he pretended to be out of breath. Felicia smirked and found this amusing. Slowly, she put the pen down on the desk and stacked the papers. She went over to the rest and looked at their states. She sighed. She didn’t have a choice. After calling the rest of the guys over, she told to quickly carry the rest to the tents and help them with taking a break. She specifically asked them not to touch Noah, as she will personally do the job. The others, too numb to think about anything else under the blazing afternoon sun, nodded their heads. Felicia started walking over to him with a worried expression, causing Noah to smile in satisfaction. But that was all she was doing. She only showed that face, but didn’t actually care for him. Why would she? The bastard was aiming for her. Why would she help someone like him? She offered him her hand with care and he grabbed it without precaution. She yanked him up harshly and Noah being the type of guy let her do it. But the, it happened. Without even knowing what was going on, he knew he was flying through the air. But,was a tad bit too late to stop it. His back hit the ground harshly and he blinked, shocked. “Just who do you think you are, Maxwell? How dare you play me?”
