“Ares! What are you doing here? Weren’t you supposed to be helping your mother?” James asked, glad that a sane person who would definitely be on his side, had walked through that door.
“Well, I’d finished yesterday, but thanks to a certain someone,” she stopped mid-sentence, and glared at Noah, “I’ve had to handle a LOT of paperwork.”
She glanced at Noah, waiting for a reaction, but as usual she couldn’t get anything out of him. “Aw, looks like my baby sister has worked hard for her brother. Come here, let me give you a kiss,” Noah came up to her and leaned forward. But obviously he was pushed back.
“Eww, gross! How can someone be so disgusting and shameless?! Ugh, get out of here already!” She yelled. After realising where she was, she gasped and blushed furiously. Her brother had gotten the best of her again! “Just get lost. Get lost, you bastard!!” She shouted. She didn’t care anymore. She just wanted the thorn of her life out of the damn room.
“It was lovely to see you, Ares, but I-“ he was cut off when his grandpa yelled at him.
“Just shut up and come!! Why do you have to piss her off even more?!” He then dragged Noah away and said his goodbyes to the rest of the board members who, as usual, enjoyed the show put up by their CEO’s family. If someone asked, they could easily have said that rather than following the Maxwell family for their skills and leadership, they remained with them due to the fantastic entertainment provided at the board meeting every single time. Even though it was always at a point where the stock prices would be falling like meteorites.
“Yes sir, goodbye.”
“Take good care of your grandson.”
“Make sure he doesn’t mess up anything else.”
“Make sure that instructor teaches him some sense.”
Each and every person had something to say, and James couldn’t help but admire their optimism. Even right now, there were reporters outside questioning them for plagiarism, theft and Noah’s past deeds and the board members were laughing merrily as if they had become peaceful monks. James’s eyes and mouth twitched and he snapped.
“hey, you idiots!! Have some sense! I mean sure I get that it's fun watching a fool make a bigger fool out of themselves, but still!! Focus, focus! We got a bigger problem, okay?!” He spat out. The people present looked at him blankly. Then, slowly, some laughed, while others chuckled and the rest smirked, trying their best to keep a poker face. James was younger than some and older than half of them too, which made him the perfect target for a meeting clown.
However, after looking at the anger written all over their James’s face, they coughed slightly and straightened their backs. They were starting to understand the drastic issue now, yes now, and resumed the meeting. They each presented their proposal and explained the terms and benefits of each agenda fulfilled.
Meanwhile, Noah and Jonas were in a separate car, heading towards the army camp, where the supposedly beautiful and physically strong teacher was. But after making a quick call to the camp, Jonas sighed. “Looks like we missed her today as well. Whatever, she officially starts the day after tomorrow anyways. Meet her then.”
“Sure, gramps. It’d be pretty fun to meet my oh so great and lovely instructor.” He smirked.
His grandfather looked forward to make sure the driver wasn't listening and then slowly leaned in whisper in Noah's ear, “I’m saying this ‘cause it’s the two of us here right now. Stop acting cool, you look pathetic.
