I awoke to the usual chorus of morning birds, and the usual smells of—oh. Did someone wet the bed again? With a sigh, I curled onto my side, clinging to the cozy warmth of sleep just a little longer. It was good to be back in my own bed. “Don’t you think you’ve slept long enough?” Bren’s amused voice cut through the sleepy fog. I groaned and pulled a blanket over my head. My body felt like I’d been lifting rocks all night. “The sun is rounding the corner into afternoon, you know.” So late? I sat up. Bren finished folding a blanket and pointed it at me. “This isn’t going to become a habit, now, is it?” The familiarity of the blanket-folding caused a wave of nostalgia to course through me. I jumped out of bed and began helping her clear the soiled blankets. Bren worked alongside me. “
