Limits

Chapter 1

"Mom what are you doing?" I said as I watched my mother attentively as she carried a box full of test tubes, exotic fruits, as well as meat towards the attic.

"Oh well good morning to you too, Zayden, I'm taking supplies to the Aerie. Some new eggs hatched today." She said with a plastered smile on her face. You could tell the early morning wake up calls were taking a toll.

"Can I come too?" I squealed, my voice sounding a little more excited than I meant for it to.

"You know the rules Zayden, you cannot start working with the animals until you turn sixteen. Luckily for you, your birthday is in two days." She said with a matter-of-fact tone.

I rolled my eyes and said "Whatever, mom" as I walked to the kitchen for breakfast. I poured out some coco flakes and sat in a peaceful silence while I shoved spoonful after spoonful into my mouth until there was nothing left in the bowl, not even any milk. I then continued to head for the bathroom which was my original destination, before I ran into my mother. It was still just around 5:30 in the morning so when I hopped into the shower I didn’t care how long I took but it didn't surprise me that it was 6:15 am when I got out. I tend to have my own concert in the shower. I left the bathroom looking like a sauna and made my way to my room to get dressed.

What should I wear today? I thought as I went into my walk in closet. I had colorful clothes in all shades of the rainbow on one side of the closet and on the other side were neutral colors. I went to the neutral side and picked up a beige colored shirt that had Tom from Tom And Jerry on it. I then went to the back of the closet and picked out some ripped blue jeans and a pair of black vans before I went and picked out my undergarments. It honestly didn't matter what was underneath my clothes but I liked to feel sexy so of course I picked up my black cheeky lace underwear with a solid black t-back bra. I didn't waste anymore time getting ready for school as somehow it was already 7:10 am and school starts at 7:45am.

As I walked out to the black limo that was waiting to take me to school mom ran out and gave me a bagel and my favorite Starbucks drink, the white-chocolate mocha frapp. I smiled and waved goodbye as I awaited the awkwardly silent 30 minute drive to my school. Hashi, who is my butler s***h bodyguard, follows me everywhere and doesn't talk much. Whenever I try to start a conversation it becomes very awkward because I would be the only voice. Hashi is my personal chaperone but I never really take advantage of that fact, I don't need to nor do I want to.

When I stepped out of the car I noticed I couldn't see my friend Kait anywhere. I continued to look around for her, then out of nowhere someone came up and poked me in my rib.

"Owww" I said and spun around to see who had assaulted me and none other than Kait was standing there with a smug face looking oh so proud of the pain she had inflicted. I went to get her back but quickly thought better of it as I still had some of my Starbucks left and didn't want to waste any.

"Hey Zay! You wanna go swimming today after school?" Kait asked with a wide toothed grin.

"I'd love to I'll just meet you at our spot after school." I replied back happily, I really needed to relax and take a break from finals and prepare for my upcoming birthday.

Kait has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. She is a stunning girl with her long dirty blonde hair that reaches nearly to her waste, forest green eyes, and long legs. She had just the right amount of curve to her body which captivated all the young hormonal teenage boys at our school.

After talking to Kait for a bit the warning bell for first period rang and I quickly went to my first class for the day. As I walked in I saw an unfamiliar face, it was a cute, no...hot, face but very new, and I despised new.

I ignored the new face and took my usual seat in the front by the teacher just before the tardy bell rang and everyone finished pooling into the room. Mrs. Millbury stood up and started speaking.

"Alright class I'm sure you've all seen that there is a new face with us today" as she said that a few of the snotty girls in the back giggled "Mr. Lock would you care to introduce yourself?"

My face instantly but unconsciously turned to look at him as he rolled his eyes and stayed sitting. "I guess, hello everyone my name is Caleb Lock. I Just moved here into a house on Malbrow Street." He lives on my street? Oh what fun I'm going to have. I thought to myself mischievously.

Everyone instantly turned back to the teacher, well almost everyone. Those snotty girls, Chelsea and her minions, were still staring at him but I mean why wouldn't they be, he is, in all honesty, the hottest new kid we've had in awhile.

After Caleb introduced himself we went on to start on some clay sculptures, I was going to be doing a dragon. For some strange reason I had always loved them, I felt connected to them somehow and felt in my heart that they were real.

The rest of the day went by fast and as soon as the last bell rang for the day signaling that we could leave I immediately ran outside and headed for the woods. I'm not gonna lie I was a pretty good runner. Kait and I's spot was nearly 5 miles deep into the woods and was very secluded. I ran those 5 miles in about 24 minutes. I didn't wait for Kait to show up because I knew she'd be here soon enough so I began to undress, I didn't bring a swimsuit so I just improvised with my bra and panties.

The scenery around the lake was beautiful. There are tall luscious pines and blossoming red tulips all around. The lake itself was stunning with its crystal clear waters and the water fall that fell softly into it from a connecting stream. As I was caught in the beauty of the lake I didn't notice Kait had snuck up on me, again! I screamed as she pounced on me sending us both into the water.

Kait and I swam for nearly an hour and talked about girly things before she had to head home. I stayed behind to tan for a little bit and get some color to my skin. As I was laying down on the grass I heard footsteps, big ones, coming near me at a slow and cautious pace. I looked up to see who it was and realized it wasn't a who but a what for that matter and my eyes glided over the most stunning creature I'd ever seen.

I knew they were real! I thought as I stared at the magnificent beast in front of me. It was very strong looking and black as night. My eyes trailed all over its beautiful features and I stopped at its eyes. They were a deep sapphire blue that kept pulling me into a trance, I could get lost in its eyes. Then I realized, its staring right at me. The dragon is looking at me.

I started to get uncomfortable, it's gaze was never wavering off of me. I could have swore I saw this look in its eyes, I must be going crazy because i thought it was lust. I think it noticed my discomfort because its eyes instantly softened into one of admiration and it sat down, bringing itself to my eye level.

The dragon scooted closer to me, stopping only every few feet to make sure I wouldn't bolt I presume but it need not worry about that, I would never bolt from an opportunity like this. Once it was an arms length away I looked it over and realized that it was in fact a he. Not wanting to dwell on that fact I moved on and studied his wings, they were leathery and looked very smooth. Now that he was close enough I could see the little specs of blue all over in his scales where the sun hit them. I got lost in my wonder and awe as I didn't notice him lean closer to me. I was about to reach out to pet him when I heard this husky and sexy voice.

"You're going to be mine" I turned around instantly looking for whoever said that but there was no one. I turned back to the dragon but it had vanished into thin air. After I heard the voice I was a little scared to be out in the woods, by myself, so I gathered all of my belongings and left the lake
