The morning after my hospital visit felt different.
When I opened my eyes, my first instinct was to place a hand on my stomach.
A small smile found its way onto my face.
"I wasn't dreaming..."
The doctor's words echoed in my mind.
"Congratulations, Miss Monroe. You're pregnant."
For the first time since leaving the capital, I didn't wake up thinking about what I had lost.
I woke up thinking about the tiny life growing inside me.
