“Chris ?”Rachael and I breathed his name with surprise and relief. He was surprised as well when he saw us. He closed the door and put his bass behind him.
“I…I thought you were both asleep.”, he said, his gaze shifting between the both of us. “Why are you here?”he asked us. “It's almost midnight.”, and pointed out.
“We were about to ask you the same question.”, I said, looking sideways at Rachael who nodded in agreement.
“Um…um…I…I…”, he stammered.
“You almost scared us to death.”Rachael scolded with a glare. “We thought it was thieves' dumb-thing. We almost dialed 911.”, she added. He cast her a hard glare and she looked away, clearing her throat.
