Sebastian checked his wristwatch and it was thirty minutes to nine pm. He checked his phone just to be sure the attendant at the boutique had set the time accurately, and he did. He sat in the diner, wondering why Laura was taking so long. Has Evelyn not gotten to her place? Was there some kind of delay? Was she not coming anymore? Did something happen? he thought as he gradually grew impatient and…longing.
He rubbed his hands together, sitting alone in the room with only a waitress at the door. He looked at the chair opposite of him and he imagined her being right there right now, sitting in front of him, hearing her voice, her laughter and seeing her smile knowing he was the one who made her smile. Then take her to the dancefloor and dance to the playlist he curated just for tonight.
