Chapter 8
Sean took our breakup surprisingly well and I was impressed with the level of maturity he’d shown throughout our time together. Despite the immature threats he’d leveled against me last year, Mr. Gluski handled himself like a bona fide adult and I was proud of him.
I missed him a lot at first, but managed to keep my mind occupied with work. I also moved to a new apartment. The whole thing with Laurel left such a foul taste in my mouth that I knew there was no way I could keep living alongside her. When I threatened to break the lease I’d taken over from Matt, the landlord convinced me to look at an apartment for rent in another building that he owned a few blocks away on Green Street near Seventeenth. I checked the place out, liked it, and moved in about two weeks later.
