Letters I Never Wrote

PROLOGUE

Where am I? I found myself in an unfamiliar place. Street lights are dim, people are talking, and the night sky seemed very peaceful despite the chaos underneath. It is the night where the Moon meets Saturn and Jupiter; rare, mesmerizing. And for a moment, I didn’t realize I was catching my breath.

Wait, why am I out of breath? I walked slowly, I made a few steps as if I know where I was going. I felt exhausted. I felt heavy. I felt pain. Tears skipped from my eyes as I gently pressed my hand on my chest. I couldn’t explain where the ache is coming from. And then, I stopped.

The pain became stronger when I saw this stranger. He is in front of me, standing. His eyes twinkled in a painful way. I could tell he is unhappy, but he let out a smile. Everything paused for a moment. I, staring at him and he is to me as well. I tried to move closer since I could not recognize him, but I couldn’t see him entirely; there appears a strange light covering his face all of a sudden. I outstretched my hand to block the glaring light, but I still couldn’t see his entire face. I wanted to step forward. I want to move closer to him, I suddenly have this urge of wanting to embrace him, but I could not.

And there I am; standing, crying hard, feeling the t*****e this stranger is giving me. Who is he?
