Arabelle This was the last place I wanted to be. In Kade Johnson's building. It was mid-afternoon and I was on my way to do Levi's presentation as he begged me to. Even though I was so exhausted from my morning meeting I still needed to try for him. The only problem was the person I needed to meet next. This would be the first time I would be seeing him since we broke up and I know he won't be expecting to be me. For Levi's sake, I hoped he would like my presentation and agree to partner with him. I approached the receptionist, it was the same lady as months ago walking into this building that brought back memories that I tried so hard to bury. I approached Grace if I remember her name correctly. "I have an appointment with Mr Johnson. I am filing in for Mr Adams. You can just tell him Mr Adams is here." I winked at her. She giggled and winked back. "Let me do that for you, Ms Miller." I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he saw me enter. "He says you can go right in Mr Adams." She smirked. She knew I was up to something mischievous. This is why I liked her even though I never knew her well enough. I walked into the elevator and it took me to the last floor. Ding! The doors opened and I walked out. The heels I wore produced a sharp sound as I walked, it drew attention to be as many heads would turn just to see who had walked through the corridors. I reached his office and I knocked three times. "Come in!" Months had passed but I knew the sound of that voice. I couldn't believe I was an i***t for trusting someone like him. I walked in, I kept my head held high, and the the plush carpet muffled the sound of my clicking heels. He stood near the window lane his vision focused on the busy street outside. "You are welcome, Mr Adams. " He spoke his gaze was still focused outside. Such rude behavior. "You mean Ms Miller," I replied in a bold tone. My free hand went over my waist. He spun so quickly, that I was worried he would get blown away. "How come you are here, I have an appointment with Mr Adams can't we meet later." He blurted. I shook my head, " I am filling in for Mr Adams calling it a risky favour. I came here strictly for business nothing else." I warned him. "Can't we talk about us later, like after the meeting is over please Ara I miss you so much I want you back in my life? " "Forget it that ship already sank, would you get on a ship that already sank?" I asked him narrowing my eyes at him. "I...I... I think I would. " He smiled at me nervously. "Uh uh, ain't no way, you and I both know that ain't happening. Now lead me to the board meeting. " We left the office and went to a room that was opposite his office. All the members had already sat and were waiting for me to reach. The room was filled with other big investors, I recognised a few I worked with and when they saw me they smiled at me and I returned their smiles. This only boosted my confidence even more. I began the meeting in no time. I explained about the proposal Kade had written. It was great and I did it the justice it deserved. When I was done everyone was clapping. I was smiling ear to ear, I only put in my best cause I love Levi a lot even though he never notices me. The meeting was a banger and the investors were willing to invest in this newly created project, it was great to work indeed. "I loved your presentation, the work had glitches but because you presented it so well, I was interested. " Mr Walter informed, He was one of the oil extractors who agreed to work with me. He was in his 40s and had an average height of about 5'8. His golden locks were perfectly styled. "Thanks, Mr. Walter, I am glad you loved it." I appreciated, as I downed a glass of wine. I was already feeling exhausted this was my way of relaxing my strained muscles. The mini interaction went on for an hour and it was finally time to leave. I grabbed my bag and was ready to walk out when Kade came into my few stopping me in my tracks. "Ara please stay let's talk things out?" He spoke so gently. His voice was like a caress. If only we were still together, I would have enjoyed the sound of it. "What's there to talk about?" I was already irritated by him. "Us please forgive me I need you back into my life. My life hasn't been the same without you." He pleaded. "Am sorry Kade but that ain't happening," I stated firmly. Our chat caught the attention of a few individuals. They began to stare at us trying to listen in on what we were talking about. They all knew we once dated. We were couple of the week on the gossip news. What others didn't just know was that I was successful on my own too. I was seen as someone who dated Kade simply because he was rich and they all thought I would suffer if things ended only it never happened. At last, the rumour that came out was that I store enough money from Kade to sustain myself. I began to walk away only for kade to block my way. "I ain't letting you go until you hear me out." He grabbed my hand and led me to his office. "No one is watching us now it's just us two. I made a mistake." He said as if that would change my mind. "s*x is never a mistake, you knew what you were doing when you took off her clothes Kade. " I snapped. "I know but please forgive me and I will never do that again." I gave him a bored look. "I'm tired of listening to you talk. I will be on my way." I began to leave when he stopped me once more. He suddenly pulled me against his body, my body was flash against his. I began to breathe hard, my body felt hot against his. "You are telling me you don't miss this." His voice was husky as he lightly kissed the base of my neck, and I had to stifle a moan. My body was betraying me. I wasn't supposed to react this, this was the man that broke my heart after all. "No, I don't miss it." My voice sounded more like a moan than a sentence completely betraying me. "You are saying no but your body is saying yes. You do miss this no matter how many times you deny it. " He lightly held my skin between his teeth. He let it go and I felt weak. He knew my body very well in those three years we were together he studied me. I was lost for a minute before I came back to my senses. I pushed Kade away, he didn't expect the push he stumbled a few steps backwards. I saw this as my chance I slipped out of there even before he could say anything. This will never change the hate I have for him. He broke my heart and there is nothing he can do to fix things between. I rushed to my car and drove off until I was home. I went straight to the bathroom I don't want his scent to remain lingering on my body. When I felt I was clean enough I walked out to the bathroom and wore some comfortable Elsa pyjamas they were my favourite. I ordered and settled in on the couch then watched one of my favourite shows. I heard a knock and I rushed to the door. I was expecting it to be the pizza man but instead, it was Levi. "I heard it went well. " He spoke cheerfully. Levi was the whole vibe that I couldn't help but get addicted to. "Yeah, it did." I smiled. "That's why I brought you food, I am so proud of you the result was great. I owe you, Ara." I grabbed the food and put it aside. Then he lifted me and spun me around, I giggled the whole time, it felt so good to be in his hands. He set me down and kissed my forehead. I was practically flying it felt so good if only he was my man.
