The Alpha’s Ultimate Revenge

Hunter thought he had won. He had kissed Celeste in front of both packs, won the bet, and left her flustered beyond belief. But he forgot one thing. Celeste Rivers, more than anything, hated to lose, and now, because of that, she was hell-bent on making his life miserable. “Alright, people,” Celeste addressed her pack. “We have a mission.” Lisa, Logan, and the rest of her inner circle leaned in. “We are going to destroy Hunter Blackwood.” Lisa pumped her fist. “FINALLY.” Logan crossed his arms. “What’s the plan, boss?” Celeste’s eyes gleamed. “Oh, just a little… payback.” Lisa grinned. “I love where this is going.” Celeste smirked. “Step one: Operation Embarrass Hunter in Public.” The next morning, Hunter walked into town expecting another normal day of proving he was the superior Alpha. Unfortunately for Hunter, this wasn't the case. Instead of having a normal day, he was met with chaos. Massive banners hung across town that read: “Hunter Blackwood: The Most Whipped Alpha in America” This was just here and there, random, no Celeste was out to prove a point and put up banners all over, in every shop across town. Even the bakery was renamed to: “Celeste’s Future Café” with a special new drink: The Hunter Latte, served extra sweet, just like him. The florist was selling “Fated Mate Apology Bouquets” under Hunter’s name, especially created by Celeste. The barbershop advertised the “Hunter’s Love-Sick Haircut.” Whilst the gym offered a new "Celeste's Alpha Training" class, complete with a photo of Hunter’s blushing face during the kiss. And at the centre of it all, there was a massive cardboard cutout of Hunter in a tuxedo, holding a sign that said: “I’m madly in love with Celeste Rivers.” Hunter stopped dead in his tracks. Celeste, standing nearby with an iced coffee in hand and a smug smile, waved. “Morning, honey!” Hunter closed his eyes. “You are a menace.” Celeste took a sip. “Oh, I’m sorry, do you not like it?” Hunter exhaled slowly. “This is war.” Lisa walked by and clapped dramatically. “We’d like to thank our sponsor: Petty Revenge, Incorporated.” Hunter turned to Celeste. “You have a death wish.” Celeste smiled sweetly. “Oh, I’m not done yet.” Hunter knew Celeste was planning something bigger, and he was right to be paranoid because the next night, she set him up. The whole pack was gathered at the bonfire, an event meant to bring both packs together. Everything seemed normal until Celeste suddenly stood up and clinked her glass. “I’d like to say a few words about my dear, dear mate,” she announced. Hunter’s stomach dropped. Celeste grinned. “I think it’s important we recognize Hunter’s sensitive side.” Lisa handed her a book, and Celeste held it up. Hunter’s eyes widened. “This is: A Collection of Love Letters by Hunter Blackwood.” Hunter bolted up. “THAT IS NOT MINE.” Celeste ignored him as she continued. “Page one,” she began, pretending to be emotional. “‘Oh, Celeste, your fiery spirit burns brighter than the moon, how I long to hold you in my arms.’” Hunter lunged for the book, but Celeste dodged him effortlessly as she had anticipated a reaction out of him. Lisa threw glitter, and the entire pack erupted in laughter. Hunter groaned. “I hate all of you.” Celeste beamed. “Don’t worry, love! There’s more. Page thirty-two...” She continued. Hunter grabbed her wrist and yanked her away from the crowd. Celeste yelped. “Hey!” Hunter didn’t stop until they were away from the bonfire, deep in the woods, then he pinned her against a tree. Celeste’s breath hitched. Hunter’s voice was low and dangerously soft. “You really think you've won this round, sweetheart?” Celeste, still smug, tilted her head. “I’d say so, yeah.” Hunter’s eyes darkened. “Cute.” Without a second thought, and before Celeste could respond, he kissed her, not just a peck but deep, slow, and teasingly sensual. Celeste froze. Hunter pulled away, his lips curving into a smirk. “Your face is red, Celeste.” Celeste cursed her own weakness. Grabbing his collar, she yanked him back. “I hate you.” Hunter’s chuckle vibrated against her lips. “Sure you do.” Without warning, she kissed him back, but this time, neither of them pulled away. Just when you think you have survived the worst, something else always happens. Hunter had thought he had survived the worst, but he was wrong. Celeste had more coming his way. Her next move would be something for the pack history books. Hunter was enjoying a rare moment of peace in his office when Logan stormed in, wheezing. “You need to see this.” Hunter, already exhausted from Celeste’s earlier antics, sighed. “What now?” Logan handed him a pack newsletter. The headline: “ALPHA HUNTER BLACKWOOD & ALPHA CELESTE RIVERS: OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT” Hunter spat out his coffee. “What. The. Hell.” Logan pointed at the article. “It’s got a full backstory. Apparently, you proposed last night.” Hunter skimmed the page, horrified. > In a breathtakingly romantic moment under the full moon, Alpha Hunter Blackwood went down on one knee and declared his undying love for Alpha Celeste Rivers… > He stated, “Celeste, my heart belongs to you. You are my everything.” Hunter slammed the paper down. “I’M GOING TO KILL HER.” Logan, wiping tears of laughter, nodded. “Please do it after the town’s ‘engagement party’ tonight.” Hunter froze. “Excuse me?” Logan grinned. “Yeah, the whole town is throwing you guys a celebration.” Hunter’s eye twitched. Then, as if the universe didn't hate him enough already, his phone buzzed. Celeste: Did you see the good news, honey? Hunter groaned. Celeste: Better practice your vows. The people demand a speech. Hunter: You’re insane. Celeste: And you’re my fiancé now. See you at the party, darling. Hunter ran a hand down his face. "This woman's going to be the death of me." By the time Hunter arrived at the town square, it was fully decorated with fairy lights, a cake, stage, and even a literal live band, with Celeste, standing in the centre, wearing white. Hunter stared. “You have got to be kidding me.” Celeste smiled sweetly. “Oh, fiancé, you made it!” Lisa handed him a champagne flute. “How does it feel to be a married man?” Hunter exhaled slowly. “I hate every single one of you.” Then the mayor walked up. “Alpha Blackwood! Alpha Rivers! Please, a few words for the happy occasion!” Hunter shot Celeste a glare and, with a light growl, said, “Fix. This. Now.” Celeste, acting completely innocent, took the microphone. “Thank you all for coming! I just want to say… it means so much to have your support during this exciting time.” The crowd cheered. Hunter, still processing the nightmare, muttered, “I will ruin you.” Celeste held the mic to his face. “Go on, darling. Tell them how happy you are.” Hunter gritted his teeth. "Fine. If she wants a war, I'll give her one." Taking the mic and with a charmingly sweet smile said, “You know what? Celeste is right. This is a beautiful moment.” Celeste’s smug grin faltered. “What?” Hunter turned to the audience. “Since we’re all here, why don’t we make it official?” The crowd went wild. Celeste froze. “Wait.” Hunter took her hand, dropped to one knee, and flashed the most dramatic, over-the-top proposal grin. “Celeste Rivers, my one true love,” he began. Celeste panicked, and Hunter smirked. Lisa screamed. “OH MY GOD, IT’S HAPPENING.” Logan pulled out his phone. “I’m recording this for history.” Celeste yanked Hunter up. “Okay, okay, I GET IT, YOU WIN.” The crowd booed. Hunter grinned. “Aww, no wedding?” Celeste hissed. “I will make you pay for this.” Hunter leaned in. “Looking forward to it, sweetheart.” As soon as the crowd dispersed, Celeste dragged Hunter behind the stage. “You are the worst.” Hunter smirked. “I believe the term is ‘fated mate.’” Celeste poked his chest. “You just publicly proposed to me.” Hunter shrugged. “You faked an engagement. Fair Trade.” Celeste huffed. “I hate you.” Hunter chuckled. “You keep saying that.” Celeste crossed her arms. “You know what? Let’s settle this once and for all.” Hunter raised an eyebrow. “Oh?” Celeste stepped closer, tilted her head, eyes gleaming. “I bet I can kiss you without feeling a thing.” Hunter went still. "Oh, she was playing dirty." Hunter grinned. “Go ahead, sweetheart. Try me.” Celeste, ever the troublemaker, reached up and kissed him. Slow. Teasing. Dangerously real. Hunter was not prepared, and his hand instinctively slid to her waist. Now celeste could have pulled away, but she didn't, and the prank they thought was a prank, no longer felt like a prank. Hunter deepened the kiss as Celeste’s fingers curled into his shirt, this was the moment they both realized that this was no longer a game. Hunter pulled back, breathless. “Say you didn’t feel that.” His voice a little tender. Celeste glared at him, and for a second, she didn't want to speak. Hunter smirked. “Yeah. That’s what I thought.” Celeste shoved him. “You’re insufferable.” Hunter laughed. “And you love it.”
