1176 Words
Aria was so relieved to see Mr Derek stepping in again. “What a relief, Mr. Derek is back”. The female employees were excited to see their handsome boss walk in. He sat down and requested the scripts from Aria, and she willingly gave them to him. He quickly glanced at the questions and realized that everything was about his mother. He threw it up above his head, sighing. Aria watched the scripts dangling in the air helplessly. Derek let out a dismissive scoff, while he approached to speak. “I sincerely apologize for the boring entertainment with our unnecessary questions. Our theme is about love and light”. He said while he turned to Aria, he stretched his hands to her and added “The sunset is really beautiful, Miss Aria Kingsley let's go and have a view of it”. His hands were still in the air, waiting for Aria's hands to meet his. Aria shot a quick, anxious glance at Derek. Panic flooded her chest. Reaching out, she took his hands with gentle strength. Her grip tightened on Derek's hands, as she rose and walked with him to the spot. Viewers started adding comments about Derek and Aria having good chemistry together. “This is a great idea, the view is so beautiful and natural”. The men behind the cameras were happy about the outcome of Mr Derek's smart plan. The live section came to an end. Derek and Aria again had a confrontation. “How dare you, direct such stupid questions to your boss”. Derek lashed out at Aria. She had already had enough of his nonsense, but she had to hold herself a little bit as she replied. “I don't think questions about your mother are stupid, besides I was just working with what the PR team members gave me”. “Your actions today would have put my job at risk”. Her tone was calm. Derek let out a hollow laugh, as if he had heard the most absurd joke. Aria was confused because she remembered not being a comedian. “Why do you keep forcing yourself to work here? Quit instead”. He said with a serious tone Aria went mute; she didn't want to indulge in such conversations. Instead, she stared into his face with so much resentment. Derek moved forward to her, with his dark and dangerous eyes tore into her as he said. “Only if you know how far the stone you threw went”. They gazed into each other's eyes before an interruption came in from Mr Michael. He excitedly approached them to deliver how the live stream went. The live broadcast within 8 hours had over 11 million views, 6 million likes, and 300 thousand comments. Mr Michael noticed that these two are smiling. Derek walked out and he followed his boss up. “Mr Michael, I want you to pack my things right away”. Derek ordered his assistant. Mr Michael tried to reason with him why he can't leave tonight. They can't book a flight now because his flight was tomorrow, so Derek demanded his yacht. “Sir, unfortunately, the yacht is yet to undergo some services for this month”. Mr Michael stated but got startled when his boss paused, his face looking mean. “I want you to call them down here right now, I need to get home tonight”. His brows were drawn together, his voice tight with urgency. Derek can't wait to teach his stepbrother, Alex, a good lesson. He was so aware that it was all Alex's doing, even though his relationship with his father was bad, he knew his father would not do such. In the next 30 minutes, his yacht arrived at the yard. Derek quickly walked in, and his assistant was going to go back to take care of the rest of the things. They had to pause at the entrance when they heard a loud voice from a lady. “Excuse me, sir, please can I join? I promise I will not cause you any trouble. I have two kids who are waiting for me at home alone”. Aria raised her voice in frustration. She has been looking for a means to go home but to no avail. Derek's gaze was unwavering as he stared her down. His voice steady “ Ohh, so you are a single mother?”. He smirked. Aria sighed. “No sir, they are my twin brothers. They have never spent a night without me, so I'm very worried”. She responded, her face looking so restless. Derek let out a dismissive scoff and said “Let her in”. He made his way onto his yacht even before Aria could thank him. It started moving, but Aria was wondering why it was just her and her boss was in his yacht. She got distracted when her phone rang. It was Victoria, one of her bosom friends, calling her, she picked up. “Hello Victoria, how are you doing, my love?”. Aria was so excited to speak with her. “I’m good, babe. Tiwa and I are at your house with the twins. Where have you been?”. Victoria was concerned Aria placed her hands on her forehead as she exhaled heavily. “My girl, work has been very hectic for me lately but I am on my way now”. She replied also making sure her boss was not hearing anything. “I understand, I heard you guys have a new boss now. Just take your time babe. We are taking good care of Gold and Golden”. “They have fallen asleep already, they have been asking for you”. Victoria added. Aria was so glad to hear that they were sleeping. She thanked her friends, and all that was left for her was to reach home safely. Being relieved, Aria went outside the balcony to receive some fresh air, and she saw her boss already sitting with a glass full of alcoholic wine. She was going to be uncomfortable, so she decided to leave. “You won't receive any fresh air from inside, Miss Aria”. Derek suggested as he dropped his glass of wine on the table. Aria turned to him He stood up after a brief pause. Derek added with a thoughtful sigh. “I was about leaving already, so you can stay back if you wish”. His voice is calm. Aria's brows were drawn together. Her expression shifted in surprise. This is the first time she has ever seen him this nice. She managed to reply to him. All of a sudden, the ship jolted, hardly causing anything in the ship to fall. Aria fell on Derek's body, causing them to fall back on the big sofa Derek was sitting on. They didn't blink, their eyes locked onto each other.
