The moon did not rise gently that night. It climbed into the sky, spilling silver light across Gray Hollowe with cruelty. Lyra Moonfall felt the unchanging position of the moon and dared to look.
She lived nineteen years beside the Black Ridge forest-nineteen years of warnings from her elder brother, which she thought was folklore.
‘Don’t wander during dark hours, do not listen when the woods call, don't also be beneath a full moon’. Lyra pretended those were stories meant for children, but adults knew better. While standing and enjoying the cool breeze that night, suddenly she felt something Swift pass her from behind. She turned immediately, thinking of what it might be, but she saw nothing. She shrugged the feeling off, pretending it was nothing, or maybe it was her instinct playing tricks on her. After a while, Lyra felt a thing, something like an animal breathing heavily behind her, and she thought it was just her instinct playing games with her, but out of curiosity she turned her back and saw a creature with red eyes standing. Lyra became so terrified that she attempted to run, but the creature which she didn't know was an Alpha of the Night Bound clan, ancient supernatural beings, sworn to guard the boundary between the human world and the clan, howled so loudly that she had to cover her ears. Suddenly, something like a force inside him, kept pushing him, like he was being controlled, for the fear of being hurt, Lyra begged the creature not to hurt her, just when she was still in her thoughts regretting why she disregarded the instructions her brother gave to her, the creature rushed towards her and drove his fangs into her left shoulder, Lyra screamed in pain, regardless of the facts that the creature was being controlled by something, because he tried resisting, but the more he does, the more he kept feeling unbearable pains.
Lyra, still in pain, avoided eye contact with the Alpha.
Before she could comprehend his next move, he gave her a deep bite on her right shoulder, which made her scream in pain. The force that was controlling the Alpha was calm and he was in full control of his body, realizing what he did, confused about marking a mere human as his Luna, he let go of her and dashed into the woods. Blood rushed out of her body from both injuries, and she tried screaming for help, but help didn't come, because she crossed the boundary that her brother Chris warned her about, and was deep in the forest. Lyra cried bitterly in pain, regret, and frustration, and she fell unconscious with the face of the Alpha on her mind…….
