Chapter 8: New Home

Ryan

"So Rose, what exactly happened? Why were they chasing you?" I asked her carefully.

She started to cry but looked up at me. "It was a two days ago. My dad was the alpha of my pack when that man came. He is a rogue and brought other rogues with him which were the other three men that we saw. I watched him kill my parents." She started to cry harder. I know how she felt, I too watched my parents. I started to cry at that point. She looked up at me and sniffled. "Ryan? How come your crying?"

"Because." I sniffled. "I watched my parents get killed too. I know how you feel. I was ten when it happened."

"I'm s-sorry Ryan. W-what happened?" She asked sniffling.

I smiled at her and pulled her onto my lap. "I was watching TV with my parents when someone knocked on our door. My parents growled and their eyes started to glow. Of course me being ten, I had no idea what was going on." She laughed at that part. I smiled and kept talking. "All of a sudden my mom picked me up and put me by the steps and told me to run. I ran up to the stairs but curiosity got the best of me, so I just kept going until they couldn't see me anymore. A man knocked our door down and asked my parents what they were doing on his territory. The next thing I know is that he shifted into a giant wolf and so did my parents. He lunged at my dad and ripped him to shreds. And before he turned to my mom, she looked at me with sad eyes and whimpered." I stopped because tears were pouring down my face and I did nothing to stop them. But I found enough courage and continued my story for Rose. "He lunged at her and did the same. I looked up and saw a man that stormed in with him looking at me. He looked at me with sadness in his eyes and mouth I'm sorry to me.

When the guy was done killing my parents, he asked if anyone else was inside the house and the guy that saw me said no. Then I became a hunter and wound up on Finn's territory." She gasped and looked at me with fear. "Rose, I would never. I only became a hunter to find those three men. Then after I killed them, I would live a normal life."

"Really?" She asked me quietly.

"Yeah. And besides, it turns out I'm a werewolf too." I said laughing. She looked at me and busted out laughing. She was laughing so hard she started crying. "So what else happened?" I asked her when we both calmed down.

"Well after they killed my parents, I went into hiding. It was just those four men. He did a surprise attack on my father and mother. When he killed them, he forced the other pack members to listen. That's when a couple of the kids including me got away. But not all of them made it, they found some children and killed them. I don't know where the other kids are." She said with sad eyes. Tears were starting to form in both of our eyes.

Listening to her story reminds me so much of mine. Except for some details. But when I look at her, I see myself from when I was younger. When she was done telling me her story, I pulled her in close and we cried our eyes out.

"Hey, Ryan? Did you-oh. Uh, bad time?" Finn asked as he walked in.

"N-no. It's f-fine." I said in between sobs. "Her st-story is like m-mine." I continued to cry with her in my arms.

"What happened?" He asked me.

I looked down at Rose then back to Finn. "I will tell you later."

He nodded and sat next to us.

"So, all we have to do is find a home for Rose. But right now, we need to bring her to the x-ray and MIR room." Dr. Belt said.

We nodded and got up. "Oh! I know where Rose can live." Everyone looked at me funny. I laughed. "With me. I've always wanted a little sister, and I like Rose." She looked at me wide-eyed before grabbing onto my neck. I looked over at Finn with pleading eyes. He laughed and nodded.

"We have an extra room that will be perfect for you Rose." He said smiling.

She turned to him and looked hesitant. Is she okay? "Th-thankyou A-alpha." She said almost in a whisper.

"Please. Call me Finn." He said smiling at her.

"O-okay Finn." Rose said. I looked at her and smiled.

"Rose! You talked to someone else." I said laughing. She turned to me and gave me another big hug. "Come on. Let's go get you checked out." She nodded and we walked to the rooms.

The check-up surprisingly didn’t take very long. A couple of X-Rays here and there and that was it. Although the drive back to the pack house was a little hard for Rose. Finn had to be very careful to not hit any potholes on the way.

We just got home from the doctor. It turns out Rose only has two broken ribs. He said the cuts and bruises should be gone either later tonight or in the morning depending on how bad they are.

"Come on. Finn will show us your new room." I said smiling. She screamed and jumped into my arms.

Finn showed us the way to her new room. Her room is only two doors down from us since she is still scared. And it would be easy to reach her if we needed too.

"Here you are Rose." Finn said smiling.

I set Rose down and she ran in.

"Thank you Finn." I said and pecked his lips.

"Anything for you." He said smiling. "And besides. I like her, she's really adorable. And to be honest, it amazes me on how much she looks like you." He said laughing.

"Finn, Ryan! I love it! I love the colors, the bed, everything. Thank you guys so much. I love you both."

I looked at her and a tear slipped out. She deserves this, she has been through so much. I'm glad that she has a family now. We are going to be her family.

I picked her up and held her close. "You are welcome, Rose. And I love you too. And guess what."

"What?" She asked with tears of joy in her gorgeous eyes.

"I would like you to join my pack." Finn said smiling placing a hand on her tiny shoulder. Her eyes went big, and she started to cry.

"I w-would love t-too." She said with sniffling. We laughed and gave her a hug.

"Ryan, I need to go help patrol for a little bit. I'll be back in an hour. So, don't cause any trouble you two."

"Us? Cause trouble? Never." Rose and I busted out laughing. "I'm just gonna take her for a walk before it gets dark."

"Really. Do you have to go for a walk?"

"Yes. And we are going."

"Yeah." Rose said crossing her arms.

"I like her already." I said laughing.

"Great. Another Ryan. Just what I need, two troublemakers." Finn said with a smirk.

"Hey." Rose and I said. Finn laughed and gave me a kiss and Rose a hug before leaving. "Come on. Let's go for a walk."

The walk itself was very nice. Rose is such a sweetheart and I really don't know how those men could do all those things.

"So, you are talking a lot more. And you aren't as shy with Finn anymore as well." I said smiling down at Rose.

"Ya. It feels weird to talk to people. I usually kept to myself after my parents died." She said with a small smile.

"I know how you feel. I didn't talk a lot either. Come on, we should probably head out. We are close to the city and Finn won't like that very much if he finds out."

"Okay." She said cheerily.

"Ryan? Ryan Turner. I haven't seen you in a while." I heard a voice yell.

"Yeah. I haven't seen you in about a year." Another voice said.

I froze instantly. s**t! No no no. This can't be happening.

I tensed up and pulled Rose closer to me. She seemed to feel me tense up because she looked at me. Her face was showing that she was scared.

'Don't. Move.' I told Rose through our mind-link. She nodded and stayed by my side.

Out of all the people to show up. Why did this group have to show up? Crap, I hope I make this out alive and Rose too.
