His dad shrugs. “Exactly that,” he says, starting to look bored with the conversation. He then turns his gaze towards his son. “It sucks that you got Emma knocked up, son.” His blunt and not so proper words take Parker by surprise a little. His dad continues, “However, I find it admirable that you’re taking the responsibility of this whole fiasco. Both Emma and you are good and smart kids, so I don’t see any reason why your future should be severely affected by this. So, life throws you a curveball, so what? You and Emma can handle it. I’m not saying it will be easy, because it won’t. I can assure you that. However, if anybody can do it, I’m sure you and Emma can ace this. I believe in you two.”
