Alden tried to run as fast as he could toward the visitation room. He didn’t even care that he had bumped into several officers along the way.
As the door to the visitation room came into view, his sense of dread grew stronger. The prison guard who was supposed to be stationed inside was instead standing outside the room, waiting.
Alden grew more panicked and shouted while running,
"Open that door! Someone's going to die in there!"
The prison guard was startled. Even though it wasn’t a direct order from his superior, he reflexively opened the visitation room door after hearing Alden’s urgent warning.
Alden and Pierre reached the entrance to the room just in time. Inside, they saw Nancy pounding on the glass partition.
"Help! He suddenly started convulsing like that!" Nancy shouted.
