Even with everyone assembled doing their best to avoid any potentially awkward topics, the atmosphere around the dinner table was tense. Not that Autumn expected any different.
"Did you hear that Dad decided it"s time for me to be married?" she announced.
Her brother frowned and turned to their father with a disapproving expression on his face. "What about her fated mate?" Felix asked.
"What about my choice?" Autumn tried not to let her anger seep through her words, but it was hard when her family were making it so hard.
choice?"I was getting to that," Felix muttered.
"It"s time she was married. People are starting to talk," her father responded.
She dropped her fork, letting it clatter against the dish. "No one is talking about anything," she insisted.
