Author’s Note:
People always ask me where I get my ideas. For the Chosen One this came about while I was reading a National Geographic magazine and saw an article about Xilitla (pronounced “chee-leet-luh”). It's been described as, “Salvador Dali meets Indiana Jones.” Las Pozas, Xilitla was the creation of Edward James, the eccentric English poet and artist, and patron of the Surrealist movement. He created sculptures like the ones I’ve described in this novel. Go online and check out some photos of the statues at Xilitla. They’re breathtaking!
In that same issue was a man who had created a beautiful home, complete with waterfall, in a cave. I thought that was interesting!
The idea of a medicine man reincarnated into the body of a child came to me while watching the news around that time. They interviewed a boy who was said to be the reincarnation of a previous Dalai Lama.
Toss that in with my long career as a psychic counselor and a very vivid imagination and there you have it.
I hope you enjoy experiencing my novel as much as I enjoyed bringing these characters and their world to life.
