CHAPTER TWO

In a very dark room at night, Marceline slowly opened her eyes "God" she exclaimed as she was tied to Miles back on the floor. "Miles wake up” she called moving her body so that he would wake up. Miles opened his eyes and started struggling with the ropes. "Marcy, are you alright" he asked. "Yes I am, but right now we need to get out of here" she said. "Not so fast amigos" Dr Kuj and Dr Jack approached them. “You guys are the masterminds behind this, I'll make sure I expose you before I die. My brother Adrian will receive justice, the right justice and you two will be locked up in jail" Marcy said as she kept on struggling with the ropes.

“Oops dear, you can't stop us now. I already have the money and then you will both die in the next twenty minutes, so any last words" Dr Kun pulled out a gun. "Mi..... mi..... Miles.... he has a gun" Marcy whispered. "I can see that" Miles whispered back.

"Say bye bye” Kuj was about to pull the trigger. "Wait Kuj, shooting is too quick. Let them die a slow and painful death" Jack said.

"Set the building ablaze" He said. "What!" Marceline exclaimed.

"Set us ablaze, what the hell did we do to you guys?" She asked. "To much" they answered. Dr Kuj poured gasoline all over the place

And then poured the remaining on Miles and Marceline. Then he set the fire and they both left the building. "Miles, did you get everything?” Marceline asked. "Every word and their faces are clear" He said holding his phone.

The fire began to spread like wildfire. "M...miles how do we get out of here?" Marceline asked as she looked at the fire. "We have proof, we can't just die with it” she added. Then Miles cut the ropes and held Marceline up to her feet. "Let's leave" Marceline looked around. "There is no exit Miles the fire is everywhere do something” She called. Then she took a wood "I'll break through this wall" she said hitting the walls. Miles moved away from Marceline as he started hearing his mother's voice "You are the god of water" "when I gave birth to you, there a huge tsunami"

The voice became louder and he fell to the ground with his eyes closed. His two palms were folded and his birthmark shone blue lights, with that he opened his eyes and they were completely blue. Suddenly thunder was heard, and Marcy exclaimed as she held her chest. "Thunder?" She called. "Miles than......" she paused as she couldn't find him anywhere "Miles!" She called. "Oh my". Just then it started raining heavily inside the building and the fore went out. "Miles" Marceline called shivering under the rain. Meanwhile Miles became normal but he staggered a little and held a brick for support. "Miles" Marceline rushed towards him. "Where were you i***t, come on, I think the fire department are here" she said. "No, they are not, it's raining “He answered. "Nah, that's not possible at all, the roof is already..........." Marceline came into reality. "O my God it's raining inside the building." Marceline brought out her phone immediately but Miles dragged her out of the building.

The fire department rushed towards them. "Are you alright" One asked. “Just a scratch but we are fine" Miles said. One of the investigators rushed towards them "This is unbelievable, it's raining inside the building “He said and the others rushed to see. "A lifesaver from God han" the investigator said. "Yeah" Miles smiled, "From God" he repeated and looked at his hands.

A car horn was heard, and Mrs Brixton ran out of the car and hugged Marceline. June, Miles Mother hugged him. But he got irritated and pushed her away. "I fine, stop caring about me too much “he said. "I'm just glad that you are okay" June said. "It's raining inside the building, this is a miracle." One man cried. "What!" June exclaimed and fixed her gaze on Miles. "Did you......" she said but Miles brushed her and made his way to car. “OH Miles" June exclaimed and entered the car.

"Wait" Marcy called from a distance and ran towards the car. "Miles I want to say, thanks for today, I really appreciate" "No problem Marcy, tomorrow, we will show Kuj and Jack who's gold" He smiled and drove off.

"Is that the Walt-Alpha you told me about?" Arche asked. "Yes, and we have evidence of Dr Kuj and Jack"

"Don't worry mum, Adrian will have his rightful liberty soon" she added. "Oh daughter, you will forever make me proud. Now you have to be careful" Arche smiled at Marceline and put her hands on her shoulder. "I wonder what I would have done without you in my life" "Don't worry, I am always here for you" They both hugged.

At Miles home; Miles badges into his house looking really angry. "Miles, I'm talking to you" June slammed the door and walked towards him. "Tell me who was she, and why did you use your powers?" She asked.

"Did you just ask why I used my powers?" Miles stopped moving and turned towards her. "If I didn't use it, those men would have reported two teenager’s dead and Marceline would have not been able to free Adrian" He said. "But, what if someone had seen you?" June moved closer to her son.

"Seriously! That's what you are concerned about right now. “Miles said. “Look at me Miles Walt-Alpha, you are not a detective, neither are you a cop, please stay out of the law" June said rather softly. “Look mother, stay out of this okay! I helped Marceline get the justice her brother deserves" Miles came closer to his mother. "You love her, don't you?" June asked. "Let me live my life Mother, it's not my fault that I was born this way" Miles knelt down begging his Mother. "No, no please get up Miles" June begged as she wipes her tears and took him up. "Truly am sorry, I was just nervous that something bad will happen if you learnt the truth about your being, who you are, what you can do and how to control your powers. You are too young" June said.

Miles bent his head down, "Now I understand" he said. "I'm really sorry" He moved forward and hugged June. "I hope you get used to your powers soon" June said. "No one else will know apart from me and you okay" She continued. "Yes mother, I Will, I promise" Miles nod his head. "But look sit here" June sat Miles down on the couch, and she sat beside him. "I've got to tell you something” She said. "What's that?" Miles asked. June sighed, "Well it's about your powers and the rules of Philashia if you are to go there" She started. "Go on" Miles got interested. "Okay, ummmmm, Miles you need to control your powers and one day you can become a hero. You have sweet powers Miles, just like your father Tarfiki. But you also have to keep to the rules of Philashia too" She said. "One of the most important rule is that no Philashian should fall in love with a mortal, it might bring forth a disgraceful downfall." She paused and smiled. “Like your father and I" this time Miles smiled too looking at the ceiling "Your love was so precious and he had to let you go because of consequences" he said. "Tell me Miles, are you in love with that mortal?" June asked. "I don't know, I don't have any feelings for her yet" Miles said with a smirk. Looking at the time Miles stood up immediately, "School tomorrow, good night" He pecked her cheeks and went to his room. June saw him entering his room and gave a big sigh. "If you indeed fall in love with that girl, no one will stand in your way. Even the laws of Philashia or a mere man" She said.

California; the Harrison's mansion: "Rex, come on our flight to Cillin awaits" Mrs Pepper Harrison called out for her son. "Coming mother" Rex answered and rushed downstairs, a handsome, tall, fair teenager with a perfectly styled black hair walked towards Mrs Pepper. He held Michelle, his little sister by the hand and behind him was Claire Harrison, his sister almost about the same age as him, long black hair, and same complexion as her brother and on her phone as usual. "Come on hurry" Pepper called out. "What of dad?" Claire asked. "Oh he is already there, he had to settle in the new home in Nilesville" Rex answered. "I didn't ask you dipshit" Claire rolled her eyes and entered the car, they then took off.

They arrived safely to Nilesville in Cillin. They drove into their new home, "daddy" Michelle called and ran to hug Mr Daniel Harrison. "Hi dad" Claire pecked Daniel and entered the house. "Hello dad" Rex waved. Pepper kissed Daniel and they all entered the house.

Nilesville high, the bells rang and students rushed into their classrooms.

"So, like Adrian is out of prison Han" Emily asked Marceline on their way to class. "Yeah, he also got promoted and Dr Kuj and Jack are behind bars as we speak" Marceline said as she opened her locker to get her books. "OMG, look it's Miles" Emily pointed at Miles direction. "Go say hi" she smiled. "Okay calm down genius, I'll go talk to him as friends okay" Marcy shut her locker and walked towards Miles, "Hi Miles" "Oh hi Marcy, how's Adrian" He asked. "He's fine, he owes me big time though" She smiled and they walked to class together.

Later that day; during afternoon classes: a man entered the classroom to make an announcement and distribute fliers.

"On the 8th of next month that is during the summer holidays; all ye CAMA scholars will be going to the annual CAMA camp year. Just provide everything on the giving prospectus and arrive early to avoid missing the bus. It lasts for four weeks so you can have fun and other exciting activities" The man announced and left immediately.

"I can't believe we are spending half of our summer in CAMA camp" Emily said giving a light squeak. "I know right" Marceline smiled. "So, that means Miles is coming too" Emily gave a light smile. "That's so dumb" Marceline pushed her.

Outside the school; some group of men in black entered the school compound and went to the principal's office.

Marceline and Miles were called to the principal's office. "I hope there is no problem" The teacher asked. "No, no, not at all" Miles answered and the teacher gave a deep sigh. Marceline smiled at Miles as they reached the office. Miles noticed and gave a little cough "You look really happy" he said. "Yes, and it's because of you" she said. Just then they entered the principal's office.

Marceline handed the evidence to one of the men in black. They watched the video and started clapping for them. "My little spies and future detectives" One said. "I am Mr Lugard Richard Kurf, and I have to say this is quite impressive" Kurf complimented. "I am Marceline Brixton, Adrian Brixton's sister" Marceline introduced herself. "I'm Miles Walt-Alpha" Miles stretched out his hands for a shake. "I put someone innocent behind bars, I'm really sorry little Miss Brixton" Kurf apologized. "It's nothing I promise, all I know is that my brother is out of that hellhole" Marceline said. "Make sure those two get the appropriate punishment" Miles said. "That has been fixed by the court of law" Kurf smiled. "Don't worry" he added.

At the cafeteria; Miles and his best friend Rico Alturo were sitting on the table then Marceline and Emily occupied the two seats. Marcy sat close to Miles while Emily sat close to Rico. "Hey guys" Emily waved. "Hi" the boys replied. "Well how is Adrian's case now" Rico asked. "It's been taken care off" Emily answered. "When they called you guys I felt scared" Rico said. "Nah, and I owe everything to Miles" Marceline said giving a light smile and she rested her head on Miles shoulder. "Oh, umm, Rico" Emily quickly called. "I've got something to show you" she then whispered to his ears "Don't ruin the moment". "Oh......" Rico smiled and they both left.

"What just happened?" Marceline lifted her head. "Honestly I don't know” "Friends" Miles stretched out his hands, Marcy smiled, smacked his hands down and hugged him "friends" she said. “I real............" Miles was interrupted by the sudden murmurs from the cafeteria. Then he looked at where the source of the noise came from. It was behind Marcy, "What are you.........." Marceline turned back and just then she saw a guy walking up to them, all eyes where on him, fair, perfectly styled black hair, well fit and handsome too. "May I join you guys" He asked with a charming accent. "Sure" Miles and Marceline chorused.

"Hi, I'm Rex Harrison, a new student actually “He introduced himself. “OH nice to meet you, I'm Miles Walt-Alpha and this is Marceline Brixton" Miles introduced. "Hi" Marceline offered a hand shake "I know you guys, I've seen you on the news" Rex said. "Really” Marcy's face brighten up "Oh sorry, I've not actually been on the news before" she giggled. "How do you know it was us" Miles asked. "It's all over, the girl and her boyfriend who......." "Boyfriend!!!!" They both said. "Yeah what, aren't you two in a relationship?" Rex asked. "No please" Marcy answered. "Tell that to the news then" Rex laughed. Marceline rolled her eyes. Just then the bell rang for their class. Miles phone rang, "I'll be right back, I've got to take the call" Miles said and left Marceline and Rex. "So are here alone" Marcy asked. "Nah, actually my sister Claire is here also" Rex sighed and noticed Marceline's smile. "You guts don't get along right" she asked. "Yeh, kind of" Rex sighed again but this time it was heavy. "Love your accent, you are from California right" Marceline asked. "Yeh I am"

"You can give me a tour after school" Rex said. "Yeah cool" Marceline said standing up. "We are late for class" she said and they both stood up to leave, Marcy then hit her feet on the table almost falling but Rex caught her "Thanks" she held him for support. "Are you hurt?" He asked. "I'm okay, thanks" she answered and they walked to class together.

In class; Rex sat beside his seat-mate Nathaniel Marsh. "I see that you are getting used to the place" Nathaniel said.

"Yeah, it's nice, and the people too are nice and beautiful" Rex looked at Marceline and smiled. "Beautiful!" Nathaniel brushed Rex "who is that?" He asked. "No one Nath don't mind me" Rex smiled.

Emily looked at Rex and Marceline dragged her head forward. "Stop looking at him" "Who is he?" Emily asked. "Well he is Rex Harrison from California he also passed the CAMA" Marceline said. "Slow down there sugar bean, you know him so well, how?" Emily asked "Oh long story" Marceline answered. "You seem not to change Marceline Brixton" Emily smiled.

After school the two girls went to their lockers to put their books. "I really wish my mum will take us out as a family today since Adrian has returned" Marceline said opening her locker. "Definitely" Emily opened hers "hey look" Marceline called bringing out glass heels. "What are those?" Emily scream in excitement. "My glass heels, I thought I'd lost it" Marceline answered "You are lucky to have found it" Emily smiled. "This is so homecoming" Marcy said "Definitely homecoming" Emily nod In agreement.

"Hi girls" Rex came into the picture. "Oh hi Rex" Marceline waved. "Hi, I'm Emily Rider" Emily offered a hand shake. "Sorry Emily I've got to go," Marcy said "Yeah, school tour" Rex smiled at Emily. "Okay, bye then" Emily said.

Rex and Marceline got to the library, Rex took a novel, and “The Brightest Dark, I love this novel by Kira Kirms" he said. "No way, it's my favourite book, I've read it like five times" Marcy exclaimed "I love Markilya Black, she is my favourite character" she continued. "Yeah, she is my favourite character too, amazing right" Rex then noticed the sudden sadness in Marcy's eyes "what's wrong?" He asked. They both sat down. "Nothing it's just that Dr Kuj and Jack will not stop until they get us Rex, I'm really scared" she said. Rex gave a soft sigh “it’s okay, I'm sure it's all over" he said. "You are quite nice for a new guy" Marceline gave a light smile and hugged him. Just then Claire entered the library. "Uhmmmm, Rex, the driver is here “She said. "Oh, hi I'm............" "Marceline Brixton, I know" Claire cut her short of her words. "I don't want to see you close to my brother thank you" She said. "Excuse me" Marceline called, "Claire can you stop please" Rex shot her a look. "Don't raise your voice at me cause of a random girl you saw on TV" Claire hissed; "you've gone far lady" Marceline pointed a finger at her. "She's a slay queen" Rex whispered to Marcy as she lowered her finger. Claire sighed and left the library. "What was that?" Marceline asked "You happened to wear the cloth she wore in the news" Rex said "too cheap, she's sick" Marceline shook her head. With that they left the library and headed to their different homes.

Marceline entered her house and saw Adrian "Adrian!!!!!!!!!" She screamed, ran and hugged him and they fell to the ground. "We need to celebrate our beautiful Marcy's bravery" Arche said "Thanks little sister, you are really brave" Adrian pecked her forehead. "We are going for a family outing tonight" Arche said. "Mummy, let's go to my favourite place" Caroline suggested. "Okay then" Adrian said and they all hugged each other.

That night; after dinner at the Harrison's house; Rex sat outside the house listening to music. He heard someone around the garden "who is there?" He called. Immediately he ran inside to get a flashlight. "Hey, where are you going?" Claire asked "It's none of your business girl" Michelle said. Rex smiled and left the house, he switched on the flashlight "Hey," He saw a shadow and he ran after it. "Hey, wait" he called and pointed his flashlight but heard a girl screaming, she reacted to the light. Rex slowly put his flashlight down. "It's not nice to follow a girl around you know" she said. Looking up Rex saw the girl but she was in the dark. "I thought you are a ghost or something" he said. Then the girl moved into the light, she looked pale, with a long black hair, she wore a black hoody jacket and a black jean with black over knee boots, she wore black handless gloves and her lips were painted black. "Are you mourning someone?" Rex asked "No I'm not" She replied. "Are you a ghost?" He asked "Yes I'm dead" She said sarcastically. "I don't understand" Rex laughed. "Just follow me okay, I was being sarcastic" "Follow you! To where?" Rex asked. "Please, no more questions okay" She dragged him to a deep forest.

In the forest, there was a mansion. "Goodness, who lives here?" Rex asked. "You'll know" she entered and dragged him along.

They entered into the living room and Rex saw a lot of people in black. "Okay! Why the black clothes" Rex asked. "Sit down please" the girl said and sat Rex down. "Attention!! I've brought him" she said "Wait, What!!!!" Rex looked confused. A woman moved forward "We are the Sapphies, a very special species of the vampire, and you are here to complete our mission" the woman said. "Sorry, we didn't introduce properly, I'm Melody Marsh" the girl said. "I've heard that name before, and what mission I'm I hear for?" He asked. "You will know when the time is right" Melody said. "Well what's your name?" The woman asked him. "I'm Rex, Rex Harrison" "You are the chosen one Rex" the woman said. "Who are you guys?" Rex asked. "Who are you guys? Didn't you hear a word I said" The woman said. "I shouldn't be here" Rex stood up and turned to leave but Melody blocks his way. "You can't escape a sapphie" she said. "But you were just.......... now you are...... what's going on?" Rex became confused. "Do you really want to know why I brought you here?" Melody asked. "Yes please" Rex replied. "I know how to make it easy for you" she sat Rex down and started rubbing her hands on his chest. "Such a handsome teenager like you" she said squatting in front of him. She moved closer to him and caught his lips with a kiss "Can you feel it?" She asked. Rex looked at her, "What are you up to?" He asked. "I'm making you understand" she said and continued kissing him. She slowly went to his neck "You won't feel a thing I promise" she whispered to his ear bends him neck and bit him. Immediately he felt dizzy and fell down. "What did you do?" He asked. "Initiation" the woman said. "Melody, what kind of initiation?" Rex struggled back on his knees. "Welcome Rex, welcome to the Sapphies" She helped him back on his feet while everyone clapped and cheered.

"Rex!! Where is Rex?" Michelle asked. "It's none of my business" Claire sighed. "Oh really" Michelle collected Claire's phone, "Mitch, my phone if not I'll throw you outside" Claire demanded. "Rex might be in danger and now you are thinking about your stupid phone" Michelle said. "He is a grown up guy let him do want he wants" Claire sighed "Can I have my phone back. “Fine" Michelle gave her the phone. "Now I've missed a lot of messages" Claire sighed. "At least you didn't loose the phone cause I was about to trash it" Michelle said and left. "Actually" Claire thought. "Where is that son of a b***h?"

Meanwhile at the Sapphies mansion; Rex and Melody walked on the hallways. "So I thought vampires react to light?" Rex asked "They do, but we are quite different, we are Sapphies and when you get bitten, you posses a very strong power" Melody explained. "But I'm not ready for all this stuff, this mission, everything" Rex said. Melody took his hands and held them tight. "When we kissed" she started, "I realised how strong you are Rex and it's really cool" she said. "I love you" she drew closer to kiss him again but Rex Phone rang and he slowly pushed her away. "Sorry, excuse me" he went to a corner to receive it. "Hello ummm, Claire" "Rex you good for nothing asshole where are you?" Claire asked. "Am just strolling round" Rex answered. "f**k you Rex, get back home now, the whole world is disturbing me about your whereabouts" Claire sighed. "I'm coming, bye" Rex cuts the call. "Who was that?" Melody asked. "Oh, it's just my sister" Rex replied. "Rude isn't she?" "Nah, just sassy" Rex said.

"I'll have to go now, see you later" Rex waved and left immediately. "I wish all these are nightmares" he said.

The Brixton's had dressed up for their outing and they went to Caroline's favourite place; Amigos hotel. "This is like one of the best times" Marceline said. "Yeah" Arche agreed. "I wished your father was here to see this joy" Arche continued. "Everything is alright" Adrian smiled. Suddenly Marcy noticed strange movements of a man holding a black bag. "Mum" she called. "Yes honey"

"I don't think we should be here" she said. Adrian turned back and saw two men loaded with bombs "s**t" Caroline exclaimed. "Get down" Adrian screamed and just then the bomb exploded. The building exploded into million pieces and only half the foundation was spared but blazing with uncontrollable fire. Ambulance rushed to get the victims and the news went viral.

At Miles home, Miles was watching a commercial when the news came on "We interrupt this programme to bring you live at the Amigos hotel explosion today" "Who cares?" Miles took the remote about to change the channel. "It is said that the Brixton family were the target of this horrible explosion but their bodies are not yet found" Miles froze immediately. "The hell" he exclaimed. June entered the living room. The remote fell from Miles hands. "Careful" June called and noticed Miles gaze at the news, she turned and looked at the TV "My God, that is one huge explosion don't you think" June asked. Miles stood up immediately and ran out of the house. "What....." June paused as she saw the headline "Oh holy cow" June quickly ran after Miles.

"Miles come back, it's not safe" she called. "I know Kuj and Jack are behind this" Miles said and entered his car. "They are behind bars" June called. "Are they?" Miles shot her a look and drove off.

"Goodness, please be safe" Tears ran down June's cheeks as she watched her son driving off.
