CHAPTER 3: I SAW HIM REALLY

640 Words
I heard bones cracking, but I couldn’t bring myself to open my eyes. Fear gripped me down to my bones. Then the screams stopped. The cracking stopped. Everything went silent. All I could hear… was a voice. “I guess you’re very comfortable in that position.” The voice was hoarse… dark. Slowly, I opened my eyes. They felt heavy, my vision blurred—but I saw him. The cold aura guy. Before I could say a word… everything went black. Sebastian’s POV “Help her up.” I turned to Dorian and headed toward the car. He stared at me like he’d just seen a stranger. “Since when did you become… caring?” he asked. I shot him a cold glare. “Are you testing my patience? Help her up and take her to the car.” He didn’t say another word. Dorian has always been one of the closest people to me. I may be hard on him, but he never talks back—not because he’s afraid, but because he respects me. I’ve been with him since he was five. He lost his parents during the plague. I found him… interesting. So I took him in. Lizzie’s POV I woke up to the soft glow of sunset—and my father sitting beside me. “Dad…” I called weakly, my vision still blurry. “Beth, my darling,” he said, his voice shaking. “Are you okay? What happened? Where were you?” I stared at him, confused. I couldn’t remember how I got home. “Lizzie!” Eva rushed in, holding a cold towel. “I was worried sick. How are you feeling? What happened?” “I… I don’t know,” I whispered. “How did I get home?” “Your neighbor, Mrs. George, brought you in,” Dad replied. “You were unconscious.” Then it all came rushing back. Jack. The men. And— “The cold aura guy!” I gasped. “He… he saved me. Those men tried to attack me, but he stopped them. And Jack—I saw him. He was kissing Nyla. It’s all his fault!” Tears streamed down my face. “Lizzie, calm down,” Eva said gently. “There was no guy. Mrs. George said she found you in the garden down the street. Some men were harassing you, yes—but no one else was there.” I shook my head. “No… I saw him. I know what I saw.” “And Jack?” she asked softly. “He told me to leave… and then he kissed her,” I cried, burying my face in my dad’s arm. “I’m so sorry, Lizzie,” Eva muttered. “Honestly, I hate Nyla—and Jack too.” Dad quietly left the room to give us space. I told Eva everything again—the men, the fight, him. But she only shook her head. “Shock can make you imagine things,” she said. Maybe. But I knew what I saw. I SAW him really Sebastian’s POV Somewhere in the city that night, a man sat in the dark shadows of a club. “That one looks good,” Alaric muttered, pointing at a nearly naked dancer on the pole, I think you should have a taste, Without moving, Sebastian spoke coldly, “Learn to keep your distance… unless you want your tongue cut out.” Alaric chuckled. “Yeah, yeah. The great Sebastian. Should I be scared?” He leaned closer with a smirk. “You don’t scare me, Seb. You can’t scare a 1,025-year-old vampire like me.” A cold sneer formed on Sebastian’s lips. Well I guess I have to go get her since you don't need it… He said giving a cold chuckle while leaving…….. ……………………… ………………………
