Lizzie’s POV...
Eva wouldn’t stop talking. “…and I’m telling you, that Nyla girl has always been fake. I never liked her”
Her voice faded in and out as I stared at nothing.
My mind wasn’t here, It was stuck on him, the cold aura guy.
“I know what I saw…” I murmured against my breath.
Eva sighed. “Lizzie, you need to rest. You’ve been through a lot”
A sudden chill brushed against my skin.
I froze.
The room felt… different, heavier.
Like the air had shifted.
I slowly lifted my eyes toward the window.
Something or someone was there.
But when I blinked, I saw nothing.
“Are you even listening to me?” Eva snapped lightly.
“Yeah… yeah, I am,” I lied, forcing a small smile.
Still… that feeling didn’t leave.
Like I was being watched.
Sebastian’s POV
The noise from the club still rang faintly in my head, the music, the bodies, the emptiness of it all.
Alaric’s voice.
“That one looks good…”
Pathetic.
I stood in the shadows outside her window, unseen, unnoticed.
Exactly how I preferred it.
And yet…I was here, I stood not knowing why I brought myself here or couldn't focus on the club activities
My jaw tightened slightly.
Annoying, I should have been with one of those girls rampaging on their bodies and not here baby sitting a weakling I whispered to myself and gave a loud grunt
I don’t revisit things.I don’t check on people. So why…
Inside, she sat on the bed, her expression distant, unsettled, She remembered,That alone was… unusual.
Humans forget.
They always do.
But her mind kept reaching back to that night like it refused to let go.
Interesting.
I moved silently, stepping into the room.
The other girl Eva didn’t notice.
Of course she didn’t. My gaze stayed on Lizzie, Fragile.
Confused, And yet… aware.
For a brief second, her eyes lifted
And locked directly where I stood.
A pause.
My expression didn’t change.
But something in her gaze… She could feel it, not see me, not fully.
But feel me.
That was enough, I stepped closer.
Close enough to hear her breath.
Close enough to end this, My fingers lifted slightly.
“Sleep,” I said quietly.
Her body stilled, Her eyes fluttered.
And then…Nothing.
Eva blinked. “Lizzie?”
“She just dozed off,” she muttered, adjusting the blanket.
I watched for a moment longer.
Then I leaned slightly closer to Lizzie.
My voice dropped low, controlled.
“You won’t remember me.”
A pause, Because for some reason…
I hesitated,Just for a second.
My eyes darkened.
Annoying.
“You saw nothing,” I finished.
Her expression softened, her face going completely still.
Good.
That’s how it should be.
No complications, No attachments.
I stepped back, already turning toward the window.
This ends here.
It should have ended that night.
And yet…
As I disappeared into the darkness
That same pull lingered.
Unwanted.
Unexplained, And very, very inconvenient.
