Chapter Three Meeting
2: 00 pm
Amanda walked out of her mansion dressed in a long sleeve shirt and black pencil skirt. She tied her hair and put some light make-up on her already gorgeous face.
She entered her range Rover and drove out from the compound, heading south.
A few hours later a red car pulled over in a Skyscraper building. A lady in a nice dress got out of the car and walked toward the building. She threw her keys to a security man and climbed the plaza unhurriedly.
" Take care of my car, Mr. Jones," Amanda called out.
" Sure, thing Ama." The man answered.
Amanda smiled and walked through the glass door. The interior design of the company was so beautiful that she never gets tired of coming here. Some workers with loads of files at their hands hurried around setting things in order.
Some people were dressed in business suits, while others were in casual clothes. Ama happens to be among the latter but doesn't judge this place as it is no ordinary place.
' Sky range ' was the organization's name. It was a two-faced organization as it dealt with normal jobs during the day and dirty jobs at night.
Ama greeted some workers and entered an elevator.
' 57' She pressed.
Ding!
The door closed and she viewed the scenes outside as the elevator went up.
Ding!
The door opened and she walked out from it.
" Hey ama, are you here for that?" A lady asked.
" Yeah, as usual." She answered with a smile.
" Well good luck." The lady replied and disappeared.
Amanda shook her head, passing through some doors and she finally stopped at the last one.
' The organization might be two-faced, and so are the people here. Some people might be workers here but… when Its night, they are assassins'
" I'm here…again, just hope they won't cause any problem again." She calmed her nerves and opened the door.
The once chatty room turned queue immediately they saw someone come in.
One of them stood up ready to rebuke the person, only to sit back with a gloomy face after recognizing who it was.
" Late as ever, why I'm not surprised." The man said sarcastically.
" Because I told you, I won't be early today, rusty brain," Amanda said in mockery.
She walked inside the room and have her seat.
"Y-you. " The man was speechless.
"You are late but still blame me? Worst of all, why aren't you guys saying something!" The man pointed his finger at her shaking in anger.
The other men and women in the room ignored him and faced somewhere else.
"I'm not and I didn't blame you, instead I'm telling you that I sent a message that, I'll be late," Amanda said stubbornly.
"Ya, Ya, don't lie to me! What if I check my phone and I see that it's a lie!" He roars in anger.
Amanda smirked and crossed her leg against another and sat there like a boss." Then I'll give you 10,000 D and treat you to a meal for a week."
"10,000 D, tsk, you think that trick can work on me? Who doesn't know that you are broke?" He rolled his eyes at her.
"15,000 D" Amanda added unfazed.
"Tsk!" He stubbornly ignored her.
" 20,000 D" she added again.
The other captains in the room felt like this place was like an auction house. Where a cheap germ was placed for a sale but the price was ten times its value.
They stared at Mark with pity in their eyes as they see him as the cheap rag that was about to fall inside Ama's endless devilish scheme.
" 30,000D" She added again.
" Not working." Was Mark replied?
" 60,000D that's my last bid." She leans onto the sofa, her eyes waiting for something.
"Just for the LOVE of friendship I had for you. I'll take it." He grinned foolishly. With this, he can buy some valuable stuff and keep the remaining change.
" Wait there, rusty brain. I haven't said my condition yet." She smacked him out of his thoughts.
He gave her a questioning gaze.
" My condition is that you give me 10 times the amount and also treat me to a meal for a month." She grinned.
Mark glared at her as his brain was telling him that with his calculation he won't be able to afford that kind of money.
Not only that, his instincts were already telling of the danger concerning the deal. But in the end, he agreed to it.
" Okay, I agree." He said.
" Guys, you are here as my witness so no cheating," Ama said.
" Check your phone." She added.
Mark took out his phone from his pocket in confidence and strolled through the messages recently.
The others shook their heads and gave him a silent prayer as they knew what would happen next.
Almost as if it was called, a scream echoed inside the room." No, f*** Why is this message here? What! It even said it was sent two hours ago! Ah!"Mark screamed in anguish as he realized the trouble he was in.
" That's why you are earning the title rusty brain." Amanda laughed to her heart's content seeing the man in despair.
"Ama wait let-" He gulped down the words about to come out of his mouth on seeing her killer face.
"Wait, what?" She asked calmly.
"N-nothing, I just felt like the money was little, that's all." The words blurted out from his mouth without realizing it.
"Oh really? Ok if you say it's little, then I double it to 20 times the amount and 2 months of free meals." She said,
"Just kill me!" Was his reply.
"Sure I will, that is, if you did not fulfill the deal." She replied calmly.
Mark held back his tears and took his seat. While the others mourn for him.
Who didn't know that Amanda was an expert in hacking? She hacked his phone.
A few minutes later the meeting began as the higher-ups arrived later. They consist of 4 men and 2 women. A middle-aged woman among them walked to the sofa near the down-to-up window glass and took her seat.
" Good morning all six departments, how has the mission and cooperation been lately?" The middle-aged woman said after the other men and women took their seats around the table.
" Morning Founder!" The captains greeted her and the others in union.
" Please, sit. " The founder nodded then said." Report yourselves."
" Shadow squad..6 missions, 5 completed and 3 members deceased." A lady reported with a stoic face.
" Mm..next." The founder nodded observing the president, vice president, and managers that came with her.
" Flying dagger Squad… 7 missions, 7 completed, and 0 members deceased." A broad man happily reported.
" Always growing, Flying dagger." The founder smiled.
" It is my duty Maam." The man replied, trying his best to cover up his smile.
" Next."
" Black Cloak.. 10 missions, 9 completed, 1 in progress, and 1 member deceased because of his foolishness." A lady reported in displeasure.
" That's why you are their captain. You must correct them." The President interrupted. He was a middle-aged man with grey hair. He had a stoic face and overbearing gaze.
" I'll remember that again in the future, sir." The lady said and took her seat.
" Black moon,7 missions 6 completed and 5 deceased members," Mark reported.
Amanda rolled her eyes on hearing his lane report.
" I'm sure you overestimated yourself again." She ridiculed.
" hump." He snorted.
" Black dragon squad..4 missions, 3 completed, 1 in progress, 0 members dead." Amanda stood up in grace and reported without a flinch on her face.
The room was quiet for some time before, everyone apart from the founder and Amanda laughed.
"Y-you. Is that progress? It doesn't even suit your squad name." Flying dagger captain said in mockery.
" Do you need a death wish?" Ama glared at him.
" Forget it." The man scoffed.
" Silence, let's get to the main reason we are here." The founder said.
