Back at the office, Stephanie felt she had to start working on Carmina's case as soon as possible and make as much progress as she could that day because it had hurt her a lot to know that the young woman would be facing the upbringing of her three children without the help of the man who conceived them. In her own case, at least she held out hope that Michael would be up to the task of winning her heart or, at least, she could choose to stay with him even if she didn't love him and fulfill her part of the agreement they had reached, but Carmina depended on her and how efficient she could be as her lawyer, so she was committed to giving herself completely to her work. She was focused in her cubicle until past six, when Xavier approached to ask if she planned to stay later.
