23 Prema liked to sing, especially in the morning. She often stood on the steps of her porch and sang to the cliffs below her, the water breaking in white sheafs of spray around the dark rocks that rose out of the sea. She mostly sang old folk music, though sometimes she broke into musicals like Annie or The Sound of Music. And occasionally, (very occasionally) she would sing a few Bollywood songs. Her family, the Goan family who rented a room out to her, had grown used to this, all the different songs.
