Chapter 7 Gabrielle got off work late because the boss asked her to finish unloading a delivery truck. She worked as good as any man, being far from petite but still pretty. She drove home, grabbed two beers from the refrigerator, and left the trailer, heading for the home under construction. She saw Joseph wearing ear protection as he cut some boards. When he finished, she offered one of the beers. His eyes lit, and he said, “No, thank you. Not supposed to drink while I’m on the job.” She thrust it forward. “I won’t tell the owner.
