Kath stared into the roaring fire of one of the drawing rooms of Athena’s manor. She hugged herself tighter in spite of the heat that seared her front, the cold not coming from the outside but radiating from within her. Gods, it had been such a close call. Why did she ever think that she could defend herself in a situation like that? A liability. She was a fu*cking liability then and now. She looked over to the closed door adjacent to the room where Athena, Thanatos, and the goddess Eirene had disappeared off to.
