When Kath awoke, all she could perceive was a blinding pain between her eyes. It was gruesome, especially when it was accompanied by bouts of nausea that made her see stars behind her eyes. She turned but paused midway, forcing herself to open her eyes. She was not in Hades’ bed like she expected. The white sheets and four-poster bed along with the renaissance paintings on the wall told her that she was back in her room in Athena’s manor. And even if the closed drapes helped, panic and confusion started to rise in her throat. Where was Hades? Was he hurt? Was that why she was here instead of the Underworld?
