Laurelynn ate the food she’d been given on autopilot. She was hungry, so she ate but something was not quite right, and she wasn’t sure what. She felt like there were so many people in the room there was barely enough room to breathe, much less move. The longer she sat here, the more trapped she felt, even though she knew she could get up and walk away any time she wanted. Still, something kept her in the chair. Something kept her from getting up and moving away or even outside. The girls, Rebecca and Rachel, had been so worried when they’d come in. She was reluctant to do anything to make them worry again.
