Derek walked to work, wondering the whole time why every step away from the intriguing woman he’d shared his breakfast with felt like he was doing the wrong thing. Like he was headed in the wrong direction. He never had a problem meeting new people, it was one of the benefits of his job, he met lots of new people, both people who stayed for a little while and those staying a long time.
