Chapter 3 Where is Nana?

" Do you think Kai is responsible for this?" she asked as I pulled into the hospital. Nurses came out with a stretcher to take Blossom in.

"What else do you think?" I replied as a Nurse handed me a lab coat.

"Here Dr. Alfred, we prepared everything the moment you called". She said hurrying back inside.

"Thank you Nurse Linxue". I said then turned to my wife.

"I can smell an heavy amount of Agarwood on Blossom..." I started and she exclaimed.

" Oh my! she's highly allergic to woody fragrance ". She began to freak again as we both hurried down the Hallway. Nurses bowed to greet as I passed in a hurry. Dr. Shima my old friend came out working towards our direction.

"Dr. Alfred..." He called worried.

"What's her situation?" I asked concerned.

"Too much Woody fragrance in her system. We have to transfer her to a specialist hospital. treating allergies is not a specialty here ". he answered worriedly

"I know. but at least we can stabilize her before transferring to the specialist hospital ". I supplied feeling frustrated. blossom was like another daughter to me and I felt really frustrated.

"we manage to stabilize her. but we need to move our fast, we don't know how long she can hold on ". he added equally worried.

"start the moving procedures now comma I'll go with her quotation mark. I said already rearranging my schedule in my mind. I turned my wife

"can you handle home and business till I return? "I asked hopefully and she's smiled wryly.

"home yes but business I'm sorry... "she started and I looked at her then she gave me a charming smile.

"look honey I've got my own business to handle and we have two wonderful sons who are old enough to start handling the family business. Come on, this is the chance to bring them into it". She finished holding my hands.

" Bu Lang it is then ". I said firmly.

" No no no, you're not doing that Honey. Yei Kai is the oldest and the rightful heir and he should be the one to run the Company in your absence. Bu Lang can help him out, but not lead". She said and Dr. Shima agreed with her before leaving to prepare for the transfer.

" Alright, but only because you intervened. If Yei Kai messes up the company, then it'll be on you both ". I said and walked into my office.

Our Chu family had been into Traditional Chinese Medicine for generations. I became the first in our Family to practice Modern Medicine and as a Surgeon, I couldn't still do much to save my son Yei Kai and that caused him to be on the Wheelchair for the past 18 years. My Father had blamed me for being irresponsible.

Our Chu family business extended to Pharmaceutical industry. Unlike anyone in the family, Kai was currently majoring in the Business Administration of any Medical Association and Blossom had studied Chinese Medicine just like Bu Lang and probably everyone else in the family. I quickly scribbled a little note, and signed on it using the Chu family seal, then I placed it in an envelope and handed it to my wife.

"Give this to Yei Kai". I said before walking out of the office, she followed behind me and then headed out.

I took the car back home to pick up a few Documents then headed to my office. Handling the Chu Family hadn't been an easy task and the Family wasn't an easy one as well. I was married into the Chu Family 2 years before Kai's accident. Alfred and I had been in love since High School, but for the sake of the Family Business, he had gotten married to Wei Nana based on an agreement the two Families had made during the Rebirth of the Chu Group, even before the birth of Alfred and Nana. Nana, Liu and I were best of friends, so when the Families had brought up the Marriage, I had willingly stepped aside.

Just Like Alfred was in love with me, Nana was also in love with Chen Bo Wang of the Bo Wang Group. we were all friends in High School but fate played a lot of pranks with us and our friendship almost got ruined. Alfred and Nana got married and for the sake of the two Families, they decided to make their Marriage work. They had Yei Kai and two years later, they had Bu Lang. I tried to move on, so I went to Italy to study Fashion Design. It wasn't easy on me because I couldn't move on.

As the kids grew, the Parents grew apart. It wasn't easy on anyone. Five years into their marriage, they both came to a compromise and decided to Break-off their marriage. Wei Nana got back together with Chen Bo Wang. That Year, I came back to China to start my Fashion Brand and a year later, I ran into Alfred with his two sons Yei Kai and Bu Lang.

Kai was 6 years old and Lang was 4. It was on his 4th Birthday and they'd come to the Mall where my Tao Shi was located to shop for Lang. Lang had looked at me with a smile when Alfred had recognized me from behind.

"Tao Shen?" He'd called with surprise laced in his tone and I'd turned immediately, recognizing his voice.

"Alfred!" I was really happy to see him again.

"Hello Aunt Tao". Lang was the first to greet.

"Oh, hey there little one". I crouched down to pick him up and he smiled happily.

"What's your name?"

"Bu Lang!" He'd replied happily.

"It's my Birthday and Papa and Brother Kai are taking me shopping". He'd added excitedly and Alfred chuckled.

"I'm sorry about Lang, he's quite a talkative". I smiled at them.

"No, it's fine". I replied and he looked down. I looked around then turned back to him.

"Where's Nana?" He looked away, then down, then up at me.
