CHAPTER THREE

690 Words
"Makani what exactly do you want?" The principal asked after a series of me explaining how tutoring Glen is a bad idea. It was obvious it still didn't sink in Mrs Claus head. "I want to tutor someone, I really want to, but let it not be Glen please ma'am." I said trying to look completely helpless. "Makani, all your life in highschool you have been a tutor. Which is good, you maintain your grades high perfectly well but..." She stopped and started searching for something in her drawer. Her large table was filled with files, a desktop and her handbag. Mrs Claus was the principal was a calm woman. She was Dave's mother and I knew I had to maintain a good reputation to get to her likes. I always admired her. She seemed to have everything in control in school despite students sometimes being a pain the neck, she always knew how to handle things which I hoped she handles my case to my favour. "Take a look at these." She said finally finding what she was looking for. She handed me a bunch of papers. I took a good look at them and noticed it was Glen's results. "Glen used to be like you in his juniors. Something just happened and everything dropped and that's what he's getting now. He needs help especially from you. Everyone you've tutored has improved drastically, Makani I want Glen to be the same. Please Makani." She said looking at me. She was right everyone I've tutored is now a tutor including Alex my best friend. "Fine, I will try my best." "Thank you Makani." She said. "Now if you excuse me I have alot on my table." I stood up and left the principal's office with an unsolved issue. Well it was partly solved because she was able to convince me to tutor Glen, which was a solved case against my favour. I walked to the hallway to my locker to take my literature book and head to class hoping the teacher wasn't in already. I walked into class and sat at my usual spot next to Alex. "How did it go?" She asked popping her light blue eyes out. "Unsuccessful." "Good morning everyone." Mr Stevenson distructed us. We turned to face the front. The class went on great. I was a fan of literature. I always had a plan to read two books a week and that became a hobby and at some point I thought of doing literature after highschool but I had time to figure out what I really wanted. "So what are you going to do about Glen?" Alex asked as we headed to the cafeteria for lunch. "I don't know. I'll just have to tutor him." I said feeling bored. "Though I saw his grades , he's low completely low he needs a tutor." "Ooh my God." Alex said opening her eyes wide. She wasn't looking to me it seemed something or someone she was popping her eyes out for was happening or coming respectively at back. So I turned and to check and Dave was approaching our table. I turned immediately feeling nervous and excited at the same time. "Hey ladies can I join you?" His charming voice pierced my ears like a sweet melody. I smiled awkwardly ofcourse out of both excitement and nervousness. "Yes ofcourse Dave." Alex said in excitement. "Hello Makani." He said sitting beside me. He had this charming dark hair that was neatly combed to back but the front section was let loose to just hang on there. His eyes were a darker shade of grey and as white as milk. His skin tone was just perfect not too dark and not too pale. His lips were tiny pink lips and I couldn't stop imagining him kissing me. "Hey Dave." I said trying to calm my anxiety down. We had our lunch as we talked about literally everything. He was what I expected he would be, funny, charming and interesting. "See you guys." He said walking to the hallway to his locker after lunch. His eyes were just on me.
