At Work

Jazxy:"nevermind. Did you even do what I asked?"

Lyndsay:"I'm sorry! I guess I just wanted to, um, wait for you first."

Jazxy raise an eyebrow. He pushes the Manuscript towards me and leans toward me.

Jazxy:"then let look at it together."

Lyndsay:"ah! Yeah! Let's, um, do that!"

Yikes, I didn't expect him to get close. To be honest it's kinds of... Intimidating.

Vvyon:"hey... He's kind of scary, isn't he?"

I try to shake my head without jazxy noticing,but vvyon doesn't seem to see it, either.

Vvyon:"hey, don't ignore me."

Vvyon teasingly gets mad and crosses his arm.

Jazxy:"so, this story's from an author who's written for us before. Her writing style is a little predictable,but she's reliable. It suit niche. We're taking on an easier project just to show you how the process goes."

Lyndsay:"alright! That sounds good."

I try to keep an eye on vvyon.wjo start to rearrange the supplies on jazxy's desk.

Jazxy:"so, for the next two weeks, we'll have this for copy editing. Grammar and continuity errors.

Lyndsay:" got it. "

I smile up at him,but he turns around to grab a pen from his desk.

Jazxy:"hey, I could've sworn I..."

Vvyon laugh as jazxy brow wrinkles in confusion. I try to motion for vvyon to stop while jazxy's back is turned. But jazxy quickly move the pen back to the right place an pick up a red one.

Jazxy:"well, as I was saying, we're going to go through this and copy edit like this.

He motions for me to watch as he scan the page,occasionally circling something and taking notes. To my embarrassment, vvyon starts having fun by moving something from jazxy's desk again. Of course, jazxy doesn't notice until he turns around again later. Confusion spread over his face. I'm guessing he's normally really organized he's thing.

Jazxy:"I'm sure... I... Um... Nevermind."

Jazxy shake he's head and we continue to look at the Manuscript for about half an hour. Every so often, I Glace up at vvyon, who seems to be even more restless.

Jazxy:"I think you've got the idea down. You don't have to worry about finishing this,though.I'll do the rest of the edits in my own time. I have another task for you to do."

Vvyon:"finally. Maybe I can help you with this one, Lyndsay."

Vvyon sit on the top of the desk cross-legged. He was always somewhat of a class clown on the school. I think he craves the attention at times. Being ignored must be kind of a cruel punishment.

Jazxy:" Now, this job isn't fun, but it's necessary for new recruit.

Lyndsay:"well, I'll do my best."

Jazxy:"I know you can do it."

Jazxy smile a little. I'm not sure if he's genuinely being kind, or if he's teasing me. He reaches under the table and bring out a heavy box pull of loose papers.

Jazxy:"you'll organize this. We don't need most of this, but something should be filled anyway."

Lyndsay:"wait, what? That's a ton... How am I supposed to know?"

Jazxy:"I'll give you some examples. We need this one with this label right here."

Vvyon:"I can help, Lyndsay. That's looks like alot of work."

Lyndsay:"thanks vvyon, But no...i have to do this."

Jazxy:"what was that?"

Lyndsay:"nothing!"

Vvyon pretends to pout at that. In return, he starts to joke around,standing up on jazxy's desk. I can't help but get distracted. I think that his plan as he struts around, mimicking jazxy.

Vvyon:"oops."

Before I can think, he miss steps and start to fall. Instinctively, I gasp and jolt up,jumping towards him...and of course, the Half-organize box in my lap spills onto the ground.

Jazxy:"Lyndsay, what happened?! Are you okay?"

Lyndsay:"y-yeah... I just thought, I, um, saw something..."

Jazxy:"if you want to work here you need to be more serious about it. More responsible.you need to-"

Office lady:"jazx! Don't be so mean."

The sweet older lady enters the office right at that moment,scolding jazxy like a mother would.

Office lady:"you know you made the same exact mistake on you first day.so nervous, you were shaking. You spilled all the papers! Hahaha."

Immediately, jazxy flushes red. It's weird to see this side of him-I thought he was so poised.

Office lady:"be nice to the new girl,jazx.you never know what she'll turned out to be."

She grins and nudges his shoulder,to the embarrassment of both of us.

Jazxy:"y-yeah. I will. Don't worry about me, Sue."

Jazxy tries to act like strict authority again,but now he just seem flustered. The lady turns to me and grins.

Office lady:"you're lucky to have this little stud working with you! Haha.."

Vvyon:"yeah right lady."

Lyndsay:um, thanks, Sue."

She giggles and turn back off,and I set back to work with this awkward air. This us pretty much how the rest of the day goes. Every moment is busy, between trying to make jazxy happy and vvyon on check. Admittedly, it's a little tiring. But it's first time in a while I've had this much fun.
