There were a few things I disliked about being second in command.
I knew Dominick didn't see it that way, that he imagined that this position was a burden to me, one that he carried reluctantly perhaps. And I also knew that our family did not agree that I had signed up for the position, even though family tradition implied that I should be the one built for the position. Even so, I remembered perfectly the complaints issued against me, as they had been advised, practically begged Dominick to consider someone else, maybe one of his other Alphas including William but Dominick had ignored it.
