"I'm sorry, Manager. I truly encountered an unforeseen incident, which is why this happened. I am really sorry!" Xue Che apologized to Manager Li from the creative department while changing clothes.
"Sorry? Do you understand the importance of this meeting? Do you have any idea how much we lost because your proposal wasn't delivered on time? And now you’re saying sorry? Who do I turn to now?" Manager Li was furious.
"I'm really sorry, Manager Li! I truly encountered an unforeseen incident!"
"Enough with the apologies. Go to the finance department and settle your salary. You need not come in tomorrow!"
"Bang," Manager Li hung up the phone.
"Hello? Hello?!" Xue Che hung up, disheartened. She hadn’t even completed her three-month probationary period. Where would she get her salary? How did this happen? Manager Li, usually so approachable, exploded over this and fired her. If her stepmother found out, she would be in for a harsh scolding. She needed to find a new job quickly.
