Falling.
That was all I could feel.
Wind tore through my hair as Derek's hand remained locked around mine.
I couldn't see the ground.
I couldn't see the sky.
There was only darkness.
"Derek!"

His voice came from somewhere below me.
I tightened my grip.
"Don't let go!"

Something enormous moved beneath us.
A growl.
Then another.
I looked down.
Two golden eyes opened in the darkness.
My blood turned cold.
"Derek..."
"I see it."
The creature lunged.
Derek pulled me toward him.
We twisted through the air as massive claws passed beneath us.
The Heart of the Moon inside my chest suddenly pulsed.
Silver light exploded around us.
The creature recoiled.
Then the darkness swallowed it.
We continued falling.
Until—
BOOM!
We hit the ground.
I gasped.
