Luisa who was her eyes closed, is fidgeting in her hospital bed. Her face full of sweat. Her lips moving in silent pleas.. Luisa was once again reliving her nightmares. ******* "Anton! Please—" A beautiful woman was talking and hurrying towards a handsome man. She wanted to tell him something. But all of a sudden, she was pushed and thrown down the cold floor. Her perfect curled hair was a mess. Her makeup was ruined. And there were bruises slowly forming at her wrist. Glowering eyes which is filled with pure disgust was staring down at her. He was her husband. And she was his wife. Yet, here he was in his full glory and staring daggers at her. The look he was giving her was so scary as if she had brutally murdered his entire family. Was it possible to hate someone you were married with to the point his eyes were full of venomous poison. That a single glance from his eyes and she's probably six feet under. Standing beside the ruthless man was his childhood friend, a tiny and petite woman, whose face screamed innocence. Pure, docile and gentle, those were the words that most describe Carmen Reyes. And because of her meek nature, docile smiles and allure of a very gentle and kind lady, she always provoked the protective nature of men, especially her childhood friend Anton, who vowed to ruin anyone that dared to harm her even if it's Luisa, his supposedly lawful wife. "You disgust me.." He spat out each word, every syllable was like a knife prickling her heart. "Don't touch me with your dirty hands." His voice, so dark, but smooth and pleasant to the ears, echoed throughout the room. The high socialites of New York were watching from the corner, their mouths moving non-stop as they mocked, gossiped, and laughed at the honorable Luisa Ortega, whose reputation was slowly being pushed to the ruins. Married to the only heir of Salvatore, and as the Eldest daughter of the Ortega's she was once known as The Queen of the Socialites but ever since her husband become more loving and caring towards his childhood friend her place as the queen we're slowly crumbling. Looking up at the man, Luisa can feel her heart aching in every direction and added with the horrible stare he was giving her, Luisa was surprised she's still breathing. Because if someone can just open her chest, anyone can see her heart was already turn into pieces. Anton looked at her like she was the scum at the bottom of his shoes, something that was always with him and would never let go. "Husband, I-" "Did I allow you to call me that? You vengeful b*tch." He snarled at her, his voice dangerously low. Luisa felt another pang within her heart. She looked at him as if she had been brutally kicked. When did it all go wrong? Luisa had dedicated all of her time, attention, and life to him. When he needed help in his company, she was there as the influential daughter of the Ortega family. She helped him pull strings, threatened the people, did the dirty work, and allowed herself to be pushed into the brink of stress, and madness worrying over issues that he should've cared about. And while she slaved away at his desk, Anton Salvatore her lawful husband was actually with his childhood friend or maybe she's already his lover, because duh? Who sane woman will go with a man alone halfway across the world just for a vacation?? Luisa's long, slender fingers curled into fists. Because of her naivety and heart, she had decided to fall deeply in love with him. Even though she already knew from the very beginning that it's impossible for him to love her. Anton Salvatore narrowed his eyes at her pathetic state. He couldn't believe that this woman who he thought at first as a friend was actually crazy. How despicable. He was fine when she displayed signs of jealousy. What man didn't want a beautiful woman desiring after him? But Luisa had severely crossed the line when she dared to taunt and bully his childhood friend and secretly beloved, Carmen. Who did she think she is? He allowed her to exploit the title of "Anton Salvatore’s wife" to a high extent and this is how she repays him? By attempting a hit at Carmen's life? "You're nothing but a pawn in my game. How dare the pawn come after the girl I cherish..." Anton continued to berate the woman in front of him. She had already fallen from her grace, but that didn't mean he understood the meaning of mercy. His grandfather saw her as a lifetime partner, but he saw this as a despicable joke. "Use my kindness as a warning, Luisa Ortega. And accept it already. We're already divorced... So stay away from me. And especially to Carmen..." His voice was chillingly cold, like the freezing wind of the Arctic. If looks could kill, she would've long been cremated and her ashes would have been thrown into the sewers. The atmosphere was frigid, nipping Luisa's heart she's surprised she was not frozen to death. Perhaps her anger and delusion had finally cracked her, but she wanted to laugh. That's right they were already divorced. She's no longer his wife. She do not have any obligation to him.. But still.... "Do you understand me?" Anton hissed in anger when he saw her distant expression. He bent down and roughly gripped her chin up. Luisa winced in pain, which caused him to tighten his hold. She knew it was going to leave a nasty bruise on her jawline. "Stay. Away. From. Us." Anton's voice was so calm, that it was beginning to scare the crowd. Suddenly, bubbles of confidence surged within Luisa. It was fueled by her anguished heart that desired revenge for being torn, stomped, and disregarded. "And if I don't?" She retorted back at him, her fiery temper beginning to come out again. A black shadow flew at the speed of light and before anyone could react, a hand had smacked her face with so much force, that it turned to the side. The crowd gasped in shock. Never in a billion years, would they expect the great and noble man like Anton Salvatore to strike a woman. Tears gathered in Luisa's eyes from the stinging pain in her cheeks, but she pushed them down. She will never let him see her cry. "Oh my god! Anton, are you alright?!" Carmen immediately grabbed Anton's rough, calloused hand. It was bright red because of how hard he had smacked Luisa's face. Surprisingly, the kindhearted woman didn't first asked the woman who she just witnessed getting hurt if she's okay or not. "Does it hurt a lot?" She gently asked him with her sweet as honey voice. She blew onto his red hand, lightly rubbing her cold fingers against it. Anton, the blind fool just looked at the woman she adored with a soft and gentle smile.. "I'm fine, you don't have to worry." He whispered to her. Luisa hatefully stared at the couple. Anton had one arm wrapped around Carmen's waist, holding her incredibly close to him. When Luisa saw him hold Carmen like the most precious thing in the world, she nearly laughed. Who would've thought the Devil was capable of loving someone? "Honey, let's not pay any more attention to her. I'm beginning to pity her..." Carmen's voice turned soft and mellow, like the spring breeze on a hot summer day. Instantly, Anton agreed with her. "If that is you wish." He whispered to her. Anton always agreed to whatever she desired. It was clear as a day that he didn't see her as a friend, he was actually smitten by her, and every inch of his heart craved for her. But his grandfather and the other's saw it as a love akin a big brother loving his foolish sister. At first that's what Luisa believed in too, to convince her broken heart. But a deep part of her knew that wasn't true. The love that Anton had for Carmen was beyond words. Luisa wanted to keep her mouth shut, but her heart was begging her to open her mouth and seal her fate. Nothing mattered anymore. Her pride was destroyed, her parents disowned her, the people had humiliated her and her reputation was blasted into nothingness. What more did she have to lose? Something hot, angry, and bitter trickled down her eyes. Anton's dark eyes flickered in surprise, at the sight of her tears. It was the first time she had cried in front of him. He nearly laughed, until he realized it wasn't tears of sorrow. It was tears of anger that came from the violent waves of her broken heart. Luisa saw red. She slowly stood up, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, and in a momentary flash, she wanted blood to spill. But a force was holding her down. "Stay down, it's futile to fight back" A voice whispered to her. When Luisa glanced to the side, she was startled to see a mirror reflection of herself. Was she going crazy? Was all this anger and delusions finally getting to her? Did Anton's slap the senses out of her? "He'll destroy you if you try to fight him. Stay down." The woman softly told to Luisa. When Luisa reached a hand to push the woman away, the hand went straight through her. Gasping in shock, Luisa stared at the woman with her eyes wide open. And that's when the floor beneath her collapsed. Anton and Carmen were gone. The people that taunted and humiliated her were gone. Luisa stood in an abyss of darkness, unsure of where everything went wrong.... ...................
