Chapter EightThe day was warm, and Amethyst’s hair was a lovely purple. Hungry, she paused to look into her purse, but it was empty. She sighed and continued to walk. After a few minutes, her mouth was dry, and she wanted to drink some water. Amethyst searched around for a pond or river but found nothing. Blowing cold air on her hands, she shot an ice ball in front of her. She quickly grabbed it and began to lick its surface as she headed towards the mountain again. Stepping into a clearing, Amethyst was shocked to find a glass pitcher full of water and a plate of fruit next to it. She moved towards them carefully, tossed the ice ball, and felt the pitcher, which was real, so she picked it up and looked inside. Ice floated atop, and it had a clean smell. Then she dipped her finger to taste
