Amethyst faced Lilith, who was still playing the flute. She knew Lilith would not help her, so she thought of a way to cross the lake, blowing on her hands. Once they were cold enough, Amethyst placed them on the surface of the lake, and they created an ice path. When she was about to step on it, a large tail smashed through. “That won’t work,” Lilith said. “You need to do something else.” Amethyst cooled her hands again, but she froze them further until they were almost black. She blasted a thick wall to one side then the other. With them on each side of her, she refroze the path. The creature stopped swimming, and it struck the wall with its tail. The wall held up as the animal swam away. Determining it was safe to walk across, Amethyst stepped onto the path and headed towards the isl
