After the celebration, Amethyst went to Alfred and showed him the feather. He studied it, but he thought it looked normal. “Isn’t it strange that it has no shine?” “What do you mean by that?” He held it in the light and saw that it did. “This feather looks like any other.” “Are you sure?” Amethyst took it from him and shifted the feather under the light as well; the color still appeared flat. “Perhaps I should check your eyesight, and see if there is anything wrong,” Alfred suggested. “But I can see.” Amethyst replaced the feather in her pocket. “There’s nothing wrong with my eyes.” “They might be healthy, but there are times your eyes play tricks.
