Chapter 14 - You were Injured?

After getting treated they both went to the cafeteria located nearby.
"So, care to tell me who was that gentleman before?" Anna says while getting herself seated
"As I said he's just a passerby who noticed I was injured and offered a ride here" Clara sits opposite to her and tells her everything what happened before
"And Hey! If there's really something going on, I'll make sure you'll be the first one to know!" Clara confirms
"Really?" Anna questions while ordering two coffees
"Yes, really" Clara replies
"So, He helped you to get rid of William?" Anna questions
"Yes, he did" Clara nods
"And he asked you out for a meal?"
"Yep, that's right" Clara nods again
"Don't you think it's strange? That asking someone out on their first meeting" Anna pursues her lips
"I don't think so, Sis. As you can see he hasn't asked me for my full name nor my contact details or tried to hit on me like other men I have met before. I guess, he doesn't even know who I'm and he only want to show his gratitude for my help before'' Clara shrugs while sipping onto the coffee which has been served
"But still I advice you to be careful" Anna says while sipping onto her own
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind" Clara nods
"And while coming to William, what are you going to do this time?" Anna questions
Clara looks at her coffee cup "I will not make a move until he does"
Anna sighs and nods "I guess that's a good idea and how long are you planning to stay single?"
"Hmm?" Clara shrugs
"Seriously? I don't understand you two. You're waiting for your father to pick a man for you while your father is waiting for you pick one" Anna sighs and shakes her head
"Well, Pa didn't get married after Mom died when I was just a kid and he took care of me as a single parent by giving mother's as well as father's love along with freedom to choose. He never opposed my decision or said no for anything I asked for. So, This time I want him to choose my life partner since I respect his decision" Clara clarifies
Anna shakes her head "I will never understand what's going inside that mind of yours but do remember I'll always approve your decision"
Clara glares at the coffee cup in-front and sighs "Enough about me, tell me about yourself. It's been three years since we have last met. How have you been? How's the married life? So far any good news?"
"I'm good and it's going well. While coming to the good news, yes I'm on my sixth week" Anna says calmly
Clara eyes widen and she grins "Ooh~ Ooh~ Really? Can I be the god mother?" her eyes shine brightly
"Yes, really and you can" Anna replies
"Yay! But why are you working at this time? You should have plenty of rest and I'm going to make sure to give an earful to your husband when I see him" Clara says angrily
"It's not his fault, he told me to rest and I have been doing that from past one month.. I was getting bored so I decided to go out and do some work. By the way he doesn't know that I'm here and you also don't tell him as well" Anna answers
"Seriously?! He's right and you should rest! If you're going to do this again, I'll make sure to lock you up till you gave birth" Clara says glaring at her
Anna sighs in defeat "Alright! Alright! I will be at home and get plenty of rest until birth, Okay?"
"Great, then let's go. I'll drop you on the way home" Clara says while calling someone and asking to arrange a car
"Can I have an option to refuse?" Anna sighs
"Does it look like you have?" Clara smiles for which she sighs in defeat
After a few minutes Clara gets a call stating the car is ready and is waiting outside; after coming out both Clara and Anna gets seated on the backseat and Clara drops Anna at her house before going to her own.
It was already past seven in the evening when she reached home, upon arriving she slowly walks in so that she'll not apply pressure on the sprained ankle. After going in she notices Dan is currently sitting on sofa in the living area and her Pa is nowhere to be found. Sensing someone has entered the house, Dan looks up and sees Clara
"You're back? I was waiting for you"
She simply nods and goes to sit beside him while asking a maid to get her a glass of water. Dan who is observing her closely, notices she's walking rather slow today and looks at her legs to notice a bandage wrapped around her ankle 'She's Injured?'
Dan looks at her who is drinking the glass of water which the maid just served and asks "You were Injured?"
