Chapter 15 - An Old Friend!

After she finishes, she places the empty glass on table and looks at him saying "It's just a sprain, nothing serious"
"Sprain? How did that happen? Where have you been since morning? And why didn't you tell me when I called you before?" Dan questions her
Clara sighs while saying "I tripped and fell while crossing the road and this is the result of it' she points at her injured ankle as the result "And I was with Pa since he forced me to attend a meeting in the morning which went long till afternoon" she ignores the last question
"You fell down? That too while crossing the road?? Seriously?! Clara, you should be more careful next time. What if you got a serious injury?" Dan scolds her
Clara lifts her hands in surrender saying "Okay! I get it! I'll be more careful from next time"
Dan sighs "You said you met William today. Is the injury related to him?"
Clara glares at him saying "I don't want to discuss anything about him!"
"But Cla-" Clara cuts him off in the middle "Dan, nothing serious happened, Okay? If he really does something I'll make sure to rip him apart. So don't worry about it"
Dan gives her a stern look saying "Alright. But make sure to contact me if you met him again or if you sense any kind of danger"
"Will do" Clara assures him and continues "Are you staying here tonight?"
"I thought of doing that" Dan confirms
"Okay then I'll ask someone to tidy up the room where you usually stay" Clara calls a maid and asks her to tidy up the guest room where Dan usually stays
Dan stands up saying "Let's go and have dinner first; so that you can rest early"
Clara nods and they both went to have their dinner. After having dinner they both chatted for a while before going to bed.

After finishing off work Mark gets home a little late; upon arriving he goes to the kitchen and heats the dinner which has been already prepared and eats it alone. After finishing, he goes to his study and goes through the documents before going to his room. After taking a bath, he prepares to go to bed but he couldn't able to forgot the things which happened earlier. 'Clara Miller.. why is she soo different compared to other women? I have met so many women in my life who couldn't about to resist my charm and will always try to do some or the other things to get my attention.. but she..' he sighs while shaking his head 'Mark, don't think deeply and get some sleep' he thought to himself and tries to get some sleep.
Next day, Mark woke up a little late and he was currently sitting at his desk and reading work emails on his laptop but gets interrupted by his landline ring and he casually answers the call.
"Sir, Mr. Fernandez is here to see you" the receptionist answers from other line
"Let him in" he hangs up the call after replying
A tall guy who's around his age walks in, the man is handsome who has dark red hair with a pair of purple eyes and he sits opposite to Mark while saying "Hey, buddy. It's been so long since we have met, how have you been?"
The mentioned guy is named Ren Fernandez who is a close friend of Mark, they've known each-other since elementary and when they're in High school Mark has to leave abroad to continue his studies; he only came back three years ago due his grandfather's death. This is the second time they both met after his return since Mark has been busy while handling company affairs and Ren has to leave abroad to learn more about his company and expand it. While coming to Ren's occupation, he's currently the president of Hernandez group which mostly deals in real estate.
"I'm doing good. How about you, Ren?" Mark replies
"I'm doing great, buddy" Ren answers with a grin and they both continued to chat
After a few minutes Jim knocked on his office's door and after hearing his acknowledgement, he pushed open the door and walked in.
"Mr. Brown, as you requested these are the details of the Ms. Miller which I could find so far" Jim hands over the papers containing the details to him
Mark simply nods while taking the papers and orders him to leave
Ren who's is surprised to see his friend showing interest in women and Ms. Miller? The only person who he knows by that name in Country F is none other than Clara Miller, why is he looking for her details? Perhaps did his friend fell for her or..? Having these thoughts in mind he asks Mark directly "Ms. Miller? Are you talking about Clara? Why are you looking for her details?"
Mark who is currently going through the information given by Jim looks at him and shrugs saying "Just want to, no specific reason. Do you know her?" for which Ren nods "I went to the same High school as her" was his reply which was a little surprise to Mark "And Man, if you seriously fell for her I advice you to toughen up and let it go. Since she's too hard to get" Ren continues while remembering his high school days
