Chapter 9 - Miller Corp

Miller Corp is a multinational conglomerate company, it owns businesses across the world engaged in energy, petrochemicals, textiles, natural resources, retail, financial, real estate, airlines, automobile and telecommunications. It gained international recognition after purchasing several global companies and it's one of largest conglomerates in Country F.

It is one of the biggest and oldest industrial groups in the country which was founded by Mr. Miller's Great-Grandfather and fully owned by the Miller family. The Miller family has a century of old history and holds a great power and recognition in all aspects in the country.

Mr. Miller whose full name is Andrew Miller has taken his current position as a group chairman when he was in his twenties and expanded it further. Even-though he's in his early fifties, he looks quite young and handsome with those brown hair and grey eyes. As a father he dotes on his only daughter and he's a gentle person but he can become ruthless if anyone tries to harm his daughter.

It's main headquarters is located at the capital in the center of the city and it takes an hour to reach from Miller Mansion. Clara and her father have already left and are on their way to Miller Corp.

"Clara" Andrew calls her while going through documents

Clara who was looking at her phone says "Yes, Pa?"

"Go through these documents and see whether everything is fine" he says while handing over few documents to Clara

Clara nods while taking them and checks them thoroughly, even though she has studied fashion designing she knows most of the other aspects because she has been very well trained about them since childhood since she's the only daughter to Andrew and heir apparent, both of them finish off their work before reaching the office.

After a few minutes they arrive at the office and are welcomed by the employees, the father and daughter nod at them and they directly go to the meeting room. Upon entering, the board of directors who were already present stood up and greeted them and after they both got seated the meeting started.

Today's meeting is all about the acquisition of Z airlines which is a part of Z country and the profits it'll bring to the Corp along with other concepts concerning the new products release. The meeting ended after two hours and the father and daughter duo went to chairman office, upon entering Clara directly slumps herself onto the sofa present and sighs

"Phew~ that was tiring.. " she turns to her father who went to sit on his chair behind his desk "Pa, will you not get tired? How can you be able to attend these boring meetings without getting tired?" She asks curiously

Andrew chuckles at her comment and ponders "hmm.. well at first I did get tired but now I got used to it"

Clara's eyes widened upon realization "That means I have to attend all these meetings in the future as well?"

Andrew chuckles at her words and shrugs "Yes, you have to and why do you think the reason I always ask you to come along? I want you to get used to it so that it'll be easy for you after you take over"

"But Pa you can ask someone to look after it, right? I think it's reasonable with the position you are holding"

"Dear, I'll explain it to you clearly. As you already know our company is a multinational company and there are lakhs of employees working under us all over the world, we have to look through everything thoroughly before giving an approval. Because one little mistake can cause these people to lose their jobs and their only living-hood. So, as a Miller family it's our responsibility to make sure there is not even a single mistake before confirming anything" Andrew confirms

After listening to her father's explanation, Clara understood how much of a burden he has on his shoulders from the past three decades while there is no one to share it with him and her admiration for him rose higher. She goes near her father and hugs him from behind by wrapping her arms around his shoulders "I understood Pa and I'll make sure to do the same in the future" she says and gives a toothy grin

Andrew chuckles and ruffles her hair "Since the meeting is finished, you can leave now"

Clara blinks "You sure, Pa?"

"Yes, go and enjoy your day off" Andrew confirms

"Is it really okay? If you want I can stay and help you" Clara asks again

"Yes, I'm sure dear" Andrew reconfirms

"Thank you, Pa!" Clara smiles and kisses his cheek before leaving

'As I thought, my Pa is the best'

Clara walks out off the office, the employees who were new stared at her and started to murmur.

"Is she Ms. Miller?"

"She's beautiful!"

"See her fair skin!"

"Her dressing sense is good too"

Clara wore a simple business suit with a knee-length skirt, he long hair been neatly braided and loosely tied with a pair of high heels. She went to the cafeteria to get a cup of coffee and walks outside while holding it in her right hand.

'Hmm... The malls are walk-able distance from here. So, let's go and do some shopping' she sips her coffee
